Ok for the mean time, I am working on my 4.6 as many have read.

I've looked through here, and seen some conflicting stories about it, but I've also seen some good things elsewhere. But I'm going to run the FRPP intake, that and Cams.

Heres what I got

4.6 Auto

Mods

EN ROUTE:
Long Tube Headers
Off Road H

ACTUALLY HAVE:
Tuner
SSS Terminators

Getting:
UDP
JLT CAI
3000RPM Stall Converter
FRPP Handling Pack
BMR K member
BMR A Arms
Upper/Lower Control Arms(manufacturer TBD)
Adjustable Panhard Bar

Also looking at minor weight reduction:
Spare
Tools
Tubular Radiator support
Removing my Shaker 1000 and just keeping the 500 head unit/speakers in car, just ditching trunk.
Aluminun DS

Now here is where I am branching off.

I have decided on getting the Hot Rods and the FRPP Intake.
That should key word being *SHOULD* net me mid 300 range.
http://forums.themustangsource.com/f669/frpp-3v-intake-485158/index4/

Now I'm planning on getting a baseline done this weekend, I'll just keep my mufflers, and return it to stock.
Hoping for the normal 250-260 Auto range.

Then will be getting another with my full exhaust and 91 tune.
That with an oil change/ new plugs. I figure 68K is good for a tuneup.

Basically will update with every new mod.

I'm shooting for about 340-350 at the wheels, which even here in Hell Paso, should be worth at least low 13s.

I'm not gonna be the fastest NA 4.6 but she will scoot.

That said, since I'm running an auto, I've been thinking, the RPM difference between 4.10s and 4.30s are about 150 rpms.
And since when I'm on the highway I only do 60, I figure gas loss will be negligible between the two. What do you think?
With 18x10s out back with 275/40, which comes up to 26.something
Do you think the 4.30s would be the better option?
Also a little birdie told me I may be able to go back to Germany, so how much top end speed would I lose goin 4.30s?

I was just going to throw 4.10s in and call it a day, but I've been reading and apparently auto, and tire sizes can make 4.10s more like 3.90 or so???
So if that is correct then 4.30s would equate to 4.10s?

Anyhow, I'll be updating as I go.

i have 4.10s and 275/40/18s and on the highway im reving pretty high. i think at 80 im at 3k rpms. so my suggestion would be taller tires if u go 4.30s. thatll still allow u to get off the line pretty quickly. and with that combo youll definatly be around 340-350 and probably get into the 12s pretty easily

Luckily I don't have that issue.
I wanted a manual, but the cheapest I could find locally was 18K

So I paid 14K cash for my auto.

I had heard many mixed reviews on the intake, but apparently that was just added to a few things.

With cams, and longtubes with gears, apparently it is a worthwhile mod.

After all ford racing has a 400 HP kit.

I may just buy a used set of 3v heads and ship em off for some work.
I think if I work at it, upper 300s may be in the cards..and all motor! Will probably need better cams at that point, but I don't want to kill the driveability.

A member on the forums just sold his NA GT manual and it was putting down 380hp to the rear. BTW, 350 hp in eastern NC will put you around 12.5 1/4... I love living here!

4.10s and 27s are a good combo correct? Or was I mistaken.

I'm just trying to stay out of 5th...granted I can just hit O/D off, but I don't wanna be bouncing off my rev limiter either.

Well I'll shop for the proper tires then.
I was planning 18x10s out back.
Just need some 305/40s for drag radials.

As for daily I'll go with 275/40s.

Got my Longtubes and O/R H today.
But my buddy is heading out this weekend...install may be on hold.....

Damn, minor issue.

No O2 plugs for the H.

Too easy though, I'll just hook up the O2 sensors, not like they will be active anyway.

Test fitted the Longtubes to H, perfect fit. Assuming the headers are anything like one's I've used before, they should fit the car perfectly as well.

Just throwing this out there. How far did you look for a manual? I bought my 06 with 67k miles for $14k here in Missouri. You build looks promising I hope you get to finish it the way you want too.

Finding one wasn't the issue.
affording it was.

I bought this for 14K cash.
the others, I couldn't haggle em down.
the cheapest manual I could find was 17K, he wouldn't go a dime lower either.
Private owners, well too modded for my tastes. And most thought being modded added to value...or that crazy mods were hot sellers.

This was stock, to a horrible fault, still has the factory BFs on it.

As for the build, my power adder parts will be easy, my last cosmetics will be easy.

It's the Rims/tires/suspension that's gonna be the slowdown.

UPDATE
Got in touch with the local muscle shop.

300 For gear install. Guaranteed work.
So with the kit from LRS at 269, thats 569 total for 4.10s, may be springing for that payday, or just buying the cams and doing install myself, i don't see it being much different than on a 2v, they are both SOHC afterall

Also since the market on manuals around here is dead....even the junkyards don't have anything, I may be springing for Ampperformance's kit...just hard to swallow 4400....but I do miss rowing my own gears.

Snagged a TCI Ratchet shifter off ebay for 220 bucks.

Should be in by NLT Wednesday.

Got my new lights in the mail(slip) so come Monday night I'll have no more yellow headlights or fogs.

Went with Blue Fogs and Light Blue headlamps...hopefully it'll look alright, or I'll just buy HID.

And got my M U S T A N G letters for putting on my trunk...just thinking about proper measurements...I want them to go from the insides of each taillight.

Update:

Well got my LTs and O/R H....sold em too.
LONG LONG LONG STORY but for now LTs are just out of the equation.
Besides I'll just save to buy better ones next time...
Being the only bread winner sucks...especially then things break...

That said, I recouped more than I paid for them....don't ask...
So the money I needed, was used, and the money I gained, I invested in an O/R H pipe.

Car is still in the shop, but hopefully before the end of the month, I'll get it back.

I like my lights, I can't really see anything with them unless it is pitch black, but they look good!
I may be opting for some HIDs....at least for my headlights, I like my Blueish Foglights.

Ratchet shifter is in...adds a nice feel, looks good too.

I figure since I can't afford new rims right now, I will buy a $6 can of plasti dip, and black out my fanblades. And If I can find red, spray my calipers.

I have a friend with a trans am, he plasti dipped his calipers a year ago, still good!

will probably update again when I actually get my car back.

and will update with pics too!
