Not sure if I should ask this here, but it seems like, not to many people interested in making hp/tq on the truck forums, or waiting forever for a response.
Here is the deal, I'm wanting to unload my QCSB 4x4 4.7 Dodge Ram next year, after I do some body work, rusting WHORE!!!! And I'm sick of the lack of hp/tq, if I had the Hemi I might keep it, but still, there is a hugh lack of tuning for them and the failed trans issues.
I'm thinking of buying an 06 QCSB 4x4 with a 5.4 3v, or a RCSB. What kind of hp/tq can it put down, with basic bolts, and maybe with cams? Looking for 375hp/375tq to the ground with bolts.

Thanks.

to the tire? maybe some comp 127600 cams and FRPP heads with all the other bolt ons(eh20 pump, stall converter, custom aluminum driveshaft, UD pullies, custom CMCV delete plugs) would get you pretty close.

or add some spray(100 shot) to heads/cams and bolt ons truck and easily make over 400rwhp.

oh and get the RCSB in 2wd just like the old lightnings. if you can grab a coyote 5.0L truck they have much more potential. but def stick with the RCSB and 2wd. slicks + skinnys would help get you down the 1/4 also.

If a 4.6 3V can make 320 hp at the wheels, with careful planning I think your numbes are doable. 320 hp from 4.6 litres = 69.565 hp/litre. So that times 5.4 = 375.65. I think you could be in the ball park.

if people are making 340-ish rwhp with bolt-ons and cams on the 4.6's, i don't see why the 5.4 can't do 375rwhp.

375 rwhp is gonna be tough with bolt-ons and 4x4, the auto tranny and transfer case suck some good power and the wheel and tire weight doesn't help. Bolting a Whipple on at 8 psi with a 4x4 would be right around 375. There are guys on F150online running 12 psi and other mods on 2 wheel drives to put down 450-475 rwhp.

I have an 04 supercrew 4x4 with a Whippled 5.4, its fun but its also a 6600 pound vehicle with gas and me. You can find used Whipples for the 5.4 for around 2500-3000 on ocassion. Good luck with you project.
