Hey guys want to shed a few pounds and clean up and free up room in the engine bay - I saved 11lbs doing this custom abs delete using a flare tool and some brake lines I picked up

Right where the back brakes came in we did a T and ran that to the master cylinder, then came outta the master with a line for the front, line lock, out of line lock to a T then hooked front brakes in

It will clean up that nasty octopuse of wires in the passanger side, allows you to take out the headlight when racing to get colder air to the cold air intake, great for a turbo car also I think. It cut 11lbs - which I know isn't much but cutting weight adds up little by little. Also takes of that damn ABS (personally I wish they didnt come with it) I think is a good idea for weight saving, looks, and function - it really cleans up the engine bay and combining that with moving your computer and fuse box into the dash of your car and battery location the engine bay looks great - also the weight your dropping is in the front, which is less weight to transfer.

Drag racing application it is nice as well, and they are just standard T fittings from any auto place

Going this route, gives lots more room for a turbo and as you said less weight and clutter. Never been into the abs with big and littles on but always wondered how that would work out. Probably swapping to manual brakes as well. No clue how much weight getting rid of the power assist will net but as you said every little bit counts.

As well as a radiator support and sway delete and k member and manual rack, no AC, no heat, no computer there to clutter saves weight

Mocking up the kit with my block bare, you can see the room you save with no AC no abs no computer or battery

either deal with the light or find a nice expensive piece of black electrical tape and pull the speedo cluster apart and cover it ... i personally dont care if the light is on but who knows, it might not even be on. i will keep you guys updated.

i have no idea but id assume it would be possible to use a resistor similar to getting the airbag light to go off. ive honestly never paid attention to the abs wiring though

The light will be on, because I did this same thing. I just desoldered the led from the cluster.

LOL I went to Oreillys and all they had was standard thread. Did you put standard thread fittings on the lines when you cut and flared them?
