Hi there! I am in need of new tires for my 09 GT with factory rems and wondered if any of you have used the 255/45/18 tire size versus the factory tire size 235/50/18??
Love the BF G's G-Force but they only seem to last me 2 years (25,000 miles) roughly.
Thank You for any help on this!

Yes the would work perfectly fine on your OE wheels.

Yes, they will fit fine. The little bit extra width will help protect your rims from curbs as well.

It's a pretty common size for stock wheels. FWIW the BFG KDW2 are super noisy. Had the same experience with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. I found out after I bought them and would advise against them unless your exhaust is noisy enough to drown it out.

Nitto NT 555 are good tires at a decent price. So are the Hankook Ventus Evo. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/d...tBy=prca&ar=45&fqs=true&rd=18&sw=false&cs=255

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s here. Love 'em. They're not the cheapest, but they stick, and they wear like iron.

I was gonna get 25-30k out of a staggerd set of 555's . And I don't drive easy.

YOu do or intended too? THe longest I've had any tire last was the stock Pirelli 235 all season. I've run General Exclaim and Michelin Pilots, neither lasted even half as long as the Pirelli, even with the Michelin's higher tread wear rating. Meh, I'm about to go to a drag radial anyhow so mileage be damned.

Had 17k on them and the still had 7-8/32 or tread. I replaced them because of groove cracking . The Invos I have on there now will not last that long, but I'll prolly replace them for the same reason in 2years or so.

The new Nitto Motivo looks to be pretty promising for ppl who want same size and longevity .

I ran 275/40/18 on my OE wheels for years before I sold them for my brembo wheels. The wider foot print was nice, they bulged a little bit but it was a good look on the bullets. A 255/45 will probably be optimal. Wider is great for cornering, but a taller tire will hook up better.

I'm running a NT555 in that size and I've been happy with it so far. That Motivo does look good though.
