Hi,

I have been looking for this particular stripe for my 2007 GT/CS. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

This stripe was on the Barrett Jackson 1968 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet toy.

Thanks

Just have it painted on. Trust me, you don't want vinyl stickers on your car. In a year or to when they start to discolor, you will be spending the money for paint anyway...

Ok, so if I paint on the stripe does the hood need to be completely painted over? or will they just paint over the existing paint?

Thanks

They will scuff the clear, paint the strips, then re-clear the car...

Ok, now for my next question...

Is the stripe usually a matte finish, semi gloss? etc. I am assuming they don't clear coat the stripe.

I would like it to match the GT/CS stripe on the side (which I am assuming is a matte finish) and I also plan on getting the tail painted in the same matching black.

Any suggestions? Doesn't a matte finish usually show more imperfections?

Thanks for the help!

Update: I just read about something called "Rat Rod Black" at Eastman.com. Has anyone used this to paint stripes? If so could you post some pics.

Making it flat black will require a single stage paint to go on top of the clear instead of under it. This is a LOT more expensive due to the hours of labor added. They will have to mask off everything they don't want to paint, then use a block to sand only where the black paint will go. Plus, to make it so there is no major lip between the two layers of paint, they will probably airbrush it instead. That in itself is also very time consuming.

Sometimes they will put a satin finish over a 2 stage paint to get the same look, but that too is very expensive.

Not sure about the Rat Rod Black.
