So I posted a thread the other day about the car acting up and idling funny so I drained the gas and put new in 2 days ago. I had no problems until today going to work I was driving normally and it died right before I was getting on freeway, thank god it wasent on freeway. so I restarted it and trying to make it to the lowes parking lot a block away it died again and when I restarted it and went to failsafe mode and exhaust sounded weird, then died as I was pulling in the parking lot so I coasted to a parking spot. got free towing to the dealership from road side assistance and free loaner car. so I have to wait to Monday for them to look at it and im thinking clogged cat or bad 02 sensors or both? Ill keep you up to date on what I find out, hopefully its something covered under warranty!

I dont know if a clogged cat will make the car idle funny. did you put any octane booster in the car? how your plugs look? did you do anything in the past month with the car?

well.. I would pull the plugs and check.. I had idle issues 2 months ago.. swapped them out and I was good to go.. you can also try replacing the fuel filter if you have not done that in a while.

: just saw you post about the plugs. haha

after doing some research it seams it may be the tps sensor, some other people experienced it idling funny and shutting off and fail safe mode from the tps sensor.

the TPS sensor goes a lot. Every time mine went it put it into the failsafe mode. Do you have a aftermarket TB?

+1. The older version of the TPS sensor was plastic on the inside and would get eaten out. The newer ones are metal. When my TPS sensor went out it would not idle, and if it would it would only be fore a second.

they all use the stock TPS but I could be wrong. If it keeps happening,, go back to your stock or a gt500 TB. Bet it would work fine. I know when I went back to my stock TB, I have had no issues

over winning of the gears is what I am told. One thing I noticed with when I had a Granettelli TB, when I would go open throttle, it would snap the plastic pieces.
