I'm planning on getting a centrifugal supercharger for my mustang. I'm trying to decide between the three big companies and I'm getting no where. So, which one to buy and where to buy it? I'd like to get the satin trim, whichever I go with because I'm not into to much shinyness. I've got a very much stock engine so I'd be slightly put off by the idea to get over 500 horses.

the vortech and paxton are virtually the same - they look identical and will provide similar gains. the procharger is different in that it uses an air:air IC as opposed to to a water:air IC.

I went Vortech as they have the longest history of proven performance on Stangs and my shop recommended it highly!

I can only speak for a Vortech..No issues at all, but I did have a great shop install inj. fuel pump and the unit..Mine is not cooled yet..I have an automatic and it put down 427 rwhp on a mustang dyno @ 10.5 lbs of boost... I love the centrify with an auto w/ 4:10 gears..I would recommend getting a custom dyno tune..My tuner found 57 rwhp over the supplied vortech tune..My engine is stock too besides Steeda Charge motion plates..I am hoping for 470 rwhp after a power cooler this spring...

The Paxton cooler is an air-to-air design too- the Vortech is air-to-liquid. The Paxton 2200 blower is physically larger than the Vortech V2 s-trim- it can support much more power and also makes noticeably more power at the same boost level compared to the Vortech.

I have the Vortech v-2 s trim with aftercooler. On a built 302 stroker motor at 13lbs, i'm at 522rwhp. Will be close to 6 with the meth tune.

But just the blower and basic upgrades(injectors, fuel pump, power pipe, MAF, pulley) you should be around 400ish. Anything over that you will want better internals.

In all, i love mine blower. Once day i will switch to turbo but thats in the far future

i say procharger because it uses a seperate belt to drive the S/C.

agreed.. it can blow off and the car will still run fine. Dont forget it also has self contained oil (no need to tap in oil pan). 3 core air to air front mount inter-cooler. Only issue I have with the system is a crappy place for the air filter. I guess they didnt think of it as much of an issues since it all runs though the inter-cooler. I have ran the procharger since it came out without issue (that it caused). Soon I will add colder air with an Anderson power pipe

http://www.andersonfordmotorsport.com/pipes/pipes-46-0507.html

and a 2-3 inch cowl hood

Anyone know if superchargersonline.com is a reputable company to buy from? A local custom shop is going to do my install, along with long tube headers, and a tune for my car, so I'm mainly looking for best bottom line price on the system I can get.

edit: I looked around, Procharger's HO system on that site is http://www.superchargersonline.com/product_detail.asp?PartNumber=PC-1FP214-SCI with a $680 rebate here http://www.superchargersonline.com/product_detail.asp?PartNumber=PCR-PC-1FP214-SCI add $100 for HTO spark plugs and around $100 for shipping. Hey, getting a $5700 system with everything I need for $4800 shipped is fantastic.

Also keep in mind that ProCharger has a self-contained oil system (though I do think Paxton just came out with a self-contained oiler, too), which I think is a nice idea. Add that to the dedicated belt system and the option to go to a 12-rib in the future, and I think it's the way to go.

Don't forget the procharger is upgradeable very easily. The same kit and piping from the H.O. kit can be used if you swap the head unit out to a F1A unit, which can get you almost 1000hp. The D1-SC is good to about 650-700rwhp with the proper motor.

Get the upgraded intercooler also, you'll be glad you did.

yeah, I think I'm going with procharger. The HO system. But, like I said, the best price I've found it is on superchargersonline.com. Can anyone speak from experience on if they are reputable or not?

I'll go for that. Match or beat $4800 shipped, 1FP214-SCI procharger HO system with HTO 2005 Mustang Gt 4.6L sparkplugs.

Very reputable

Very reputable and will even come down from the posted web prices...just call them.

Another great place is www.superchargers4less.com that is where I got my 04 Procharger from and it was a great price and it only took a couple days to get to my house.....

Having said that,
I had the Procharger on my 04 for 3.5 years...it was fun and made nice power, but now that I have a twin-screw, I'm having a lot more fun with it on a day to day basis....just my opinion.

Got my vortech from brenspeed and had them install it as well. Put down 417rwhp with 4.10s, h pipe, slp axle back, and delete plates. Thats with the canned vortech tune and losing a bit of HP cuz of the gears.

I think you're making the best choice, in Centri's anyway. I'm able to spin my little old P1 all the way to 18psi. The only thing I think you should do is step up to a D1 right now. You'll probably want to later anyway, especially once you do up a built motor.

I seen a thread a couple years back were a guy blew the belt off his Vortech, and it hit and broke a fuel line or something, and burnt his new car to the ground. Prochargers dedicated drive belt won't do that. The self contained oiling, and air to air intercooler to 2 other features I really like over the other kits.
