I bought a used circle d converter off of a well know guy here on s197,
Had it installed at the local tranny shop, and noticed it has a rattle (almost sounds like a heat shield rattling) at idle in park/neutral.
When creeping (car in gear foot off brake) it makes it at a certain rpm too...
Any ideas as to what it could be?
Tranny shop guys say it could be cause it's a multi disk?

I haven't heard of anybody having any problems with these converters though...

Call Chris at Circle D.

You may have to send it in and get it freshened up with the newer internals.

It's not uncommon.

Really common with these cars as I don't even have a circle D in mine and it also does it. I mostly notice it when in a drive-thru or similar situation.

I know that Larry (stretch) has had 5+ and they all did it as well.

Key on (cars off) I hear a high pitch sound (kind of a solid buzz) comig from the bell housing, it's barely noticable, but using a stephiscope It's obvious where it comes from.
What's electronic in there?

The only electronics in the entire trans are in the mechatronic assembly, just inside the pan.

my Circle D is supposedly one of the "new" ones and it rattles at idle. Just get a louder exhaust and take comfort in the fact that the rattle lets the guy next to you know that your Stang bites
