Clear plastic sleeves on FRPP K springs

Bought a new set of 5300 K springs and noticed there is a section of clear plastic sleeve on the coil. Is this just shipping wrap that's supposed to be taken off or is it to be left on for whatever reason?

i dont know the exact reason but i suppose its an inulator of some sort. i left them on.

It's a spring isolator, helps to prevent squeaking/creaking etc as the spring compresses against the strut body.
