Guys,

For you HT, (Home Theater) guys on S197.

Dish Network tech, (Gary) from Nashville, TN. office came this morning to "Up-Grade" my Dish gear.

Not only did I get the Very Newly Released, Hopper & Joey DVR gear.
I also got the newest satellite dish that just came out.

Guys this is a pretty darn sweet set-up as it is 1st class for sure.
Multiple HD video with it multiple TVs.

Auto recording for {Prime Time Network Local Channels}.

Gary the Tech that is actually an employee of Dish knows his stuff.
This guy just jumped in and did his thing.

The 1st thing he did was change out my old satellite dish for the very latest Dish just came out with.

Then he did the main HT, (Home Theater) install of the Hopper DVR.
This unit has only been out for like weeks.

He completed that install and went to the Master bedroom and set-up the Joey for that TV.

All mess what little there was he cleaned-up.
He checked all the set-up multiple times to make sure everything was working as it was suppose to.
Answered and showed me the New Features on the New Hopper & Joey.
Said his Good-Bye and off he went to his next appointment.

You guys know how I luv to document new gear with Pictures.
These are not going to be great as I did not bring out and set-up all the 2,500 Watt work lamps.
Just set-up one set for Gary to do his install.
So pictures are not going to be as clear and bright as they could be with adequate lighting.
The HT is a Cave with out the Halogen work Lamps.

Below are some of the pictures of Gary doing his install today.

Glad you like the new system. I just changed from Dish, after 11 years, to DirectTV. I had service problems with Dish and finally got fed up with them. I have the new HR34, an HR24 and 2 H25's, in my setup with the Whole Home Media that DTV has. It's similar to what Dish has done with the Hopper Joey setup except with DTV the older recievers will still work with the new stuff and I now have 7 tuners, 5 in the HR34 and 2 in the HR24, available to record with. I was actually recording 7 programs at the same time the other day and watching another program on the H25 in my HT. Great system.

Terry, with as much time and effort you have put in to this I am actually quite surprised you don't have one Universal remote with Macro's to run everything... 5 remotes is so 1990's! Just Kidding you. Wish I could see this set-up in person, it looks VERY nice!

Well, here is the rest of the story on why I keep "Separate" remotes.
I'm married and that is part of the reason.
The other part is if the much more sophisticated all in one controller screws-up everything is down.
With separate remotes at least something will be working usually.

If you get a new single remote that doesn't mean you need to toss all of the other remotes... I hate dealing with more than one remote now. There are just so many all in one remotes now that can do so much.

Michael,

I agree that they are out there but I am Married and the Wife likes picking up the remote that "Only" works that "Specific" component.

It is just whatever one gets use to I think.

I don't even pay any attention now to having more than one Remote.

BTW,

Nice Truck you have now Pal.

that poor bastard... Did someone from Brenspeed call him to warn him ahead of time or was he just ambushed out of the blue?

That annoying ass "HOPPA" commercial is damn near enough to make me threaten to cancel my service to get them to take it off the air.
