I love they are discontinuing it.

Everyone thought they were going to do that with the shelby, and now we are on the 7th model year.

Shorter run, retains value more.

FYI, for the record, I have a grabber blue on the floor for $500 off msrp for a member.

You are correct that the Job 1 Order Guide is out for the 2014, but can't we all have a little fun and speculate what Job 2 may bring mid-year? As much as I doubt there will be any offerings between the GT and GT500 for 2014, there's always a slim chance.....

So I would feel a production 2015 Mustang GT could EASILY see 485-500hp without even needing DI.

It's all a matter of increasing the power band to 8,000. HP is nothing but torque x rpm. Increase the rpm with better flowing heads, cams and valve springs the 5.0 will easily do that.

The ONLY reason Ford is going with direct injection is to meet increasing fuel economy regulations. DI is much more expensive to use, but uses much less fuel.

Agreed, but you can do it without even going to 8000. 7300-7500 is all that's needing to go into the 480'ish range.

Revise the calibration slightly, and you're already almost there. Change the came profile some and perhaps even a modified version of the cobra jet intake.

Well, I agree that we won't see an N/A 5.8L offering. However, I expect Ford to offer up some sort of send-off for the last of the S197's. Might be deeper into the model year, but it's gonna be a long model year anyway.
