The first two pics do look like they are seated off a little bit and not quite square in the housing. Don't know if you could correct them by pressing them in until they seat against the lip.

i have a call into Ford racing to give me direction.ill know tomorrow. If they say it's fine... I'll leave it alone.

I told the tech to finish the alignment. And not touch the ball joints in case I have to send them back. Honestly a bit disappointing. I never even thought to look at how these were seated.....
Thanks nawab er

I bought 500 arms awhile back and noticed same thing,
look on top side of arm, if ball joint is flush there, they are okay.
The metal on bottom of doesn't matter.

Why is there an area all shined up and devoid of paint? In one photo there appears to be a stepped groove in the ball joint.

If the end of the control arm was a machined thickness
then that ridge would be tight against arm, but since it is a
stamped hole from the top, there is no control on metal on
bottom of hole. The ball joints are pressed in from bottom
to be flush with top side of plate on top.

I sent these pics off to Ford racing for their comment/action this morning. If they are good with it so am I. If they aren't... A return and upgrade to BMR maybe in the cards. I'll keep everyone posted.
