2006 Mustang GT Premium
Manual 5-speed transmission
Black exterior, black interior
41,665 miles

Price: $17,500

(Blue book on this is between $13,000 and $15,000, and the dollar value of modifications in this car is, well, let’s just say I don’t want to put it in writing in case my wife sees this posting! You can do the math and see that this is a smoking deal and priced to move.)

This has been a weekend driver and occasional track day car for me since I have owned it. I am the second owner—I picked it up with 15,000 miles or so on it.

The car is rock solid mechanically. The only repair made is when the original clutch throwout bearing gave up on me, so I replaced it and also upgraded the clutch and flywheel at the same time. The car has always been garaged, so the paint is in good shape.

Here are the modifications:

Suspension, Braking and Wheels/Tires

Koni yellows adjustable shocks/struts
Ground Control coil-over conversion
Maximum Motorsports caster-camber plates
Steeda lower strut based camber plates
FRPP swaybars with billet aluminum rear links
Steeda billet front swaybar mount
Powergrid adjustable front swaybar endlinks
Steeda front LCA bushings
UMI bushing/rod end lower control arms
Steeda adjustable lower control arm brackets (welded in)
UMI chrome-moly panhard bar (bushing/rod end)
Steeda adjustable comp/street upper control arm (bushing/rod end)
GT500 Brembo front brakes
Steeda stainless brake lines
Custom front brake ducts with 3” brake ducting and full seal mounting plates
CHE crossmember brace
Ford strut tower brace
Steeda 5-spoke 18”x9.5” wheels
Nitto NT01 tires (only 10 sessions on them—tread pattern still showing)

Engine and Drivetrain

MGW adjustable short-throw shifter
JLT intake
SCT xcal tuner with several tunes, including an emissions tune
CMCV delete plates
Steeda underdrive pulleys
FRPP exhaust (Borla stingers)
X-pipe welded in
Trutrac rear differential w/ 4.10 gears
FRPP rear differential cover/girdle
Mishimoto aluminum radiator
Canton aluminum radiator overflow tank
Exedy clutch
Exedy billet steel lightweight flywheel
Aluminum driveshaft
Fumoto oil drain valve

Interior

Custom rollbar
Corbeau FX1 Pro seats and mounts (driver and passenger)
Adjustable seatback brace (driver and passenger)
G-Force Pro Series 6-pt. harnesses (driver and passenger)
Momo steering wheel
Stewart Warner gauges (coolant, oil pressure, oil temp)
Shift light
Pioneer iphone compatible head unit
Beltronic radar detector (hardwired in with custom mount)
Custom brake pedal spacer(s)
Misc. aluminum knobs, trim

Exterior

Steel mesh FR500 style grill
GT500 hood vent
FR500 tow rings front and rear
GT500 rear spoiler
Custom, easily installed/removed hitch (only install it when needed)
ZAINO wax!!! Just kidding. :)

The modifications made have been geared towards handling and power, but always with an eye to reliability and function on street and track. Most of the modifications are self-explanatory, but I’ll add some detail on the rollbar and the caster/camber adjustability. The rollbar was fabricated using captured nuts to be easily removable, so it can be installed for a track day in about 30 minutes and just as easily removed after you get back home. Basically, you unbolt the lower main hoop flanges (4 bolts each side), unbolt the rear x-brace/stays (4 bolts each side), and then unbolt the rear x-brace/stays where it mounts to the rear shock towers and cross brace. And if you want full stocker appearance and functionality for daily driving, you can also remove the track seats and put the stock leather seats back in.

Additionally, you’ll notice that I have both strut top caster/camber plates and also the lower strut/hub camber plates. This allows more negative camber at the track than either will give you separately with the ability to easily set it back to a more tire-friendly street setting (the upper plates have ~1.8 degrees of adjustment range).

Extras (yes, you get them—I don’t want them. Keep them, sell them, dump them, spread them on your front lawn...)

Stock fanblade wheels and all-season tires
Spare set of new front GT500 rotors
Spare set of new rear rotors
Several sets front/rear of EBC blue brake pads
Coilover springs of varying weights (heavier than what is currently installed)
Stock leather seats with side airbags
Stock steering wheel with airbag
Stock driveshaft
Stock rear 8.8 traction lock differential
Stock 3.55 gears
Stock upper control arm
BMR rear lower control arms (fixed length, poly/rod end)
GT500 rear lower control arms
Stock rear lower control arms
Steeda upper control arm differential mount bearing (uninstalled)
Steeda front lower control arm poly inner bushings (uninstalled)
Stock airbox
Stock CMCV plates and motor
Stock pulleys
Stock swaybars
DefNder head/neck device (HANS type) if you want it

Great looking car. You did what I probably should have, I really wanted that power though. I'm catching up slowly on the handling. This is a great deal for who ever snatches it up.

Sorry for the delay in posting additional pictures, but work has been hectic lately. Here are some more pics (excuse the dusty interior!!!). With 2 drivers, 4 cars and a small, California garage, I am being...ahem...pressured to sell this thing sooner rather than later.

Price drop: $17,500
