most kits wether its S/C or turbo don't come with a fuel pump. And 425 is pushing it to the limit. You can do it but be safe and swap. Tha might be a huge prblem you were having. Not enough fuel and the car was peking so no power was being made so the tuner made a safe tune.

39lbs will be fine for spray. I had 38's on my 01cobra with a dry shot and it was fine.

I got my hellion kit from brenspeed with twin GT pumps (GT supercar).

Wad - Looks like you have a serious tune issue or major leakage in your piping. Like i said in my PM, at 3k rpm, hand the hell on. Its just like my 175 shot on my old mustang, but comes in smoother.

Dont give up man. Im having the same issue here, no tuners i trust. Nothing within 6 hours. I would check it for an exhaust leak or stuck open wastegate. Im guessng the wastegate. Make sure they installed a sping in the damn thing.

Its not the kit and its not your car, its just something minor thats hanging you up. Keep at it, trust me, you will love it once it works rights.

Ive already ordered my Zex kit. I bought pretty much everything they had for my car. I cant wait to get the turbo off my car. I know that sounds crazy but thats how I feel. I dont trust driving the car any where. Ive run n2o on cars for 25years. Plus I get to lower my car again. My car was a blast before I put the turbo on. The installer keeps telling me Ive "had to many fast cars" and that its going to be hard to impress me. By the way the turbo will be for sale or trade "anything interesting to me" by mid next week.

well good luck on your new setup. Sucks a bad installer and tuner probably screwed you over. Let me know when you get the nitrous installed, we can compare dyno sheets..... :)

How much are you asking for the turbo kit?

Dang that sounds interesting.

So it's the Hellion turbo, all the piping including the air intake/filter, blow-off valve, and intercooler? No fuel pumps?

Dude, I really think you should have the car looked at. There is either something wrong with the install (leaking piping, wastegate, etc.) or the tune is so far off it is ridiculous. Did you get a tune from Brenspeed when you ordered the kit? If so put it in and take it for a ride. That would rule out the tune. I have the same set up with a Brenspeed tune in it and EVERYONE that I take for a ride has the same thing to say. "HOLY SHIT! I gotta get one of these!"

From your posts it seems that your tuner is FOS.

So Rypper1, here's some questions from the un-initiated (which might also help wadman from a comparison perspective):

  • Do you run other-than-stock fuel pumps?
  • What kind of boost do you run?
  • Did you get the optional ball-bearing turbo?
  • Optional turbo heat-sheild?
  • What numbers did you put down on the dyno?
  • Can we see your dynosheet?
Thanks!

Im not him, but ill give you my info

1. Yes. Stock ones are fine and wouldnt be causing him issues. If anything he would take off hard as hell at 3k and drop off at 4.5k due to lack of fuel. THis is not the case.

2. 7 psi so far

3. on the 62 no. On the t76 yes (the 62 spools so low, that a BB would make a diffrence of about 100-200rpm. On the t76 it will make a 4-500 rpm difference.

4. No, ran mine all last summer with no heat issues.

5. 446/462 was the latest. Every dyno is different with the exception of dyno jets.

6. If i had a scanner or decent camera, ya - but i dont (atleast not yet)

Thanks. If I had to guess, I'd say wadman has a pressure leak post intercooler. Where is the pressure rating taken, before, or after the intercooler?

Another question, Forge: at what RPM does the t62 spool up? The t76?

3500.00 or interesting trades.

Sucks you already bought the Zex kit. I would have traded you...

Zex wet kit
extra bottle
purge valve
bottle warmer

AND CASH for your setup.......

Oh well.

  • I have the dual GT fuel pumps
  • gauge shows 9psi but may be wrong, it shows a slight (~3")vacuum with the motor off.
  • No BB, standard 62 turbo
  • no heat shield
  • haven't had it dyno'd yet. Had to get the clutch replaced (slipped w/turbo)
  • When I get a dyno sheet I will post it.
Mine spools before 3k rpm and pulls hard all the way to redline (6k rpm). I was making 297 rwhp before the turbo and the car is waaay stronger now. I plan to have it dyno tuned soon. Just haven't had a chance with the holidays and everything associated with them.

Another question, Forge: at what RPM does the t62 spool up? The t76?

t62 spools to full at 2800 rpm in 4th gear.

t76 (bb) spools full at 3600.

t62 is great for 550 hp with alof of daily driving. the t76 is for when this damn shortblock finally gets done and it will no longer be a daily driver.
