Jpc line lock diode help

Picked up the kit but the diode wire that goes to brake switch wasn't included . I picked up a diode from radio shack I need to solder some wire to. Question is which way do I wire it into car. Diode is marked cathode on one end and anode on other. Which side connects to brake switch and which side to kit activation switch. Thanks, electronics newbie here

Thread moved to tech. All I can tell you is a diode only lets dc voltage flow one way.

I've pmd them but I think they are mb for mustang week, but I got the system second hand from member

Current flows from the Anode to Cathode in a diode. In case you need something visual, here you go:

Make sure that the diode you insert is rated to the proper current draw, especially initial current (startup) current, which is higher.
