I know this is going to sound stupid but I'm gonna ask anyways.

With 8 psi, on the manual tranny, what is your gear ratio, and what mpg are you getting?

I'm getting 21ish in the city, and 27ish on the freeway with 3.31's. I'd LOVE to get a blower, but I dont want my mpg to go down too much. Ron was saying he gets 21-27 with his 2.4. How though? I shift at 2K when I'm just driving normal, 3K feeling a little spirited, and wot when I want to have fun.

Also, if I got a T6060, what rear gear should I get? Keep in mind I'd like to still get 27 at least on the freeway.

There is an article in a recent Modified Mustangs about the myths of supercharging. One of them was that adding a blower will kill your gas mileage.

If you don't have a heavy foot and stay out of the boost, your gas mileage should not suffer. Some people say that they have actually seen a 1 or 2mpg improvement on the highway after adding a blower. That's my :2cents:!

I've only had my blower on for a month, and it's in boost a LOT. I haven't been on a long trip yet, so I'm not sure how my mileage has been affected.

Exactly as i told you. if you want MPG, stay out of boost and drive normally. The reaosn ppl say you get less MPG is because its harder to stay out of boost knowing its there. You want to have fun

as far as the TR6060 goes, 6th gear is almsot no different than our 5th gear. Itsd all about ratios, not how many gears you have and the Tranny choice, be it stock, or TR6060, wont make a differene enough to notice it or have a determining factor on your gear choice.

My opinion is get 4.10 gears and make sure whatever tire you use is at least stock height or larger

My mileage didn't really change until I went to 10psi and 4:10s. Still it doesn't suck. I get around 275 miles to the tank in the city. And trust me, I don't conserve.

I don't see why not. When I still had the factory 3:55s and 8psi I was getting as good if not better mpg than when I first bought the car.

With a Saleen blower, 3:73 gears, and 10psi, I'm getting about 18 city and 22 highway, and about 250 - 275 to the tank. That's with a lead foot.

You should be doing a little better than that, mine is a auto also. Do you have your foot in it all the time?

I can get 27 mpg on the freeway, but only 14 in the city.

I drive a manual with 4.10's and 8 psi.

My mileage went up with the blower and Adam's kickass tune!

Montreal Qc,
The way the computer on IUP equipped cars works will not give a true average if you drag race the car.

If I disconnect the battery for 1/2 hour and drive the car for a week my average goes up 2 MPG.

I get around 13 mpg city but my foot is very heavy.

When I say city I mean a true city with lights or stop signs on every corner.

I get around 21 mpg highway.
