Has anyone installed a set of the R series CJ springs that lower the rear 2.5"?

M-5300-R DRAG RACE SPRING SET - IMPROVED STANCE lower the s197 2.5".
M-5300-Q are the standard issue CJ springs that lower the s197 about a 1".

If so were there any issues with the ride on the street?, Any feedback in general?

Thanks

Pulled this from the 2010 CJ parts list

i was just looking into possibly a set of these myself last week.

2 1/2 seems like a hell of a drop.

i've got coil overs on the front that i will be able to set the front accordingly with the rear.

my only issue is getting the car on the trailer for going out of town.

i like not having to spend 15 minutes loading the car on the trailer. at it's current stand, i can pull it straight up on the alum trailer i'm using.

I would love to see a set on a car though, might swing me to them

I had them R's on my car, it was SLAMMED, I will see if I can dig up the pics.I went back to stock, I rubbed exhaust on everything, hit bumpstops even with them cut in half. Looked sweet, but was not practical.

That was on racestars with 26" tires, my stock tires were tucking into the wheelwells a bit

How did they effect your 60' and 1/4 times?

i was thinking of cutting a coil off the sportlines

I have the R's on mine. Bought them from fallenauthority. I get quite a few compliments on the stance. But realistically they are a pain in the ass. I have to back out of my driveway at an angle so the exhaust doesn't scrape. I can no longer get into the gas station that I normally go to due to the entrance. I have a Metco upper arm and bracket and while I should be running the arm in the lowest hole, I can't because the arm sits on the axle housing even after removing the snubber spacer. The pinion angle was a pain in the ass to get set right. However at the track I still cut 1.7x 60's. I have new adjustable shocks & struts, lca's, springs, panhard bar, and a higher gear. Once I get the suspension worked out and change back from 3.73's to 4.10's I should drop into the 1.6 60's. Surprisingly the springs work pretty good at the track. Mine looks just like the pic from fallenauthority except I run stock rims/tires up front and the tire is tucked in the fender pretty good. By the way I ran the Q springs previously.

Another thing of note is the arm on a lift will not go under my car unless you jack it a little. Each time I've had it in the shop they've had to do this. When we trailered it we had to maneuver a few boards around to get it on the trailer without scraping.

good feedback..Thanks. Based on the amount of trouble from driving around my neighborhood with my frpp 1.5" lowered ride I am just going to order a set of the normal 1" drop cobra springs. I just picked up the 325/50/15s MT ET streets so they should hook good and with the softer springs weight transfer should be good.

Next on the agenda is picking out some shocks for drag racing.

for maximum suspension tuning the double adj would be recommended

Hey Sharad...I was considering these but I wasn't sure if I should get the single our double adjustable qa1. Are the double's worth the extra $200?

It's just one of those things man... I have the double adjustables on my car, but our vert (in the picture) is a legit street cruiser that's been 1.40 to the 60 on radials with the single adjustable shocks. So if you've got the extra couple hundy, go for the DAs. But don't be ashamed to put the SAs on there. They work really well. :thumb:
