Going to look at a used shifter, and I have a quick, possibly dumb question. On mgw's website the have an option on 05-10 for GT and V6 cars, so it's safe to assume they won't interchange, but is there any way to differentiate between the two shifters visibly? I would like to verify its the correct sub model shifter when I look it over.

Thanks,

TheKid

After asking, the shifter is off of a V6 car, any knowledge of they are interchangeable or not ?

Edit: it's worth the piece of mind, just going to order new.

4.6L V8 has a remote shifter

believe 4.0L 6 cylinder has direct shifter onto of transmission

Would be why in MGW's drop down they ask which transmission

That was originally my thoughts as well, but I'm not all familiar with the 4.0l cars. The picture I was provided shows a remote mount shifter by mgw with the correct tremec 3650 markings, However it's hyphenated with T5-T45 as well.

Incorrect. They will physically interchange between the two, but it won't sit in the right spot in the tunnel opening. Functions just fine however. A new MGW isn't too expensive honestly for the 3650, I would go that route.
