Moving to Savannah, GA soon

I am a soldier, I have been stationed in Germany for the past 3 years, and I really got hooked on road racing, and the only thing that I can find in that area that will allow me to do anything like that is NASA and SCCA.

However, I do not know anything about either of these organizations and I would like find a group to hang out with that participates in these organizations. I want to get a feel for what is going on, and what classes I would want to compete in, or which organization I want to go with, instead of just showing up and being a complete idiot.

Anyone in the Savannah, GA area participate in any of those organizations?

I lived near Savannah for 7 years or so. I had several friends there that were big into SCCA. They hold monthly events over the bridge in SC. I am not sure if they are still in the area but I will try to make contact with them and if I can, I will get you some contact info.

Thanks, if all else fails I guess I could always go back to drag racing, but I have soooo much fun on the road courses.

I live in the Atlanta area and I am a member of NASA-SE. They do track weekends at Road Atlanta, Roebling Road (right near you), and Carolina Motorports Park. The new Atlanta Motorsports Park should be open late this year or early next year. NASA-SE is a great group of people and a fun time.

Hooked on Driving has a couple of dates coming up in Roebling. I am planning on going to the next one on October 21st, which will be my first time with them. They have a great reputation too.

If you just want to belong to a Mustang Club, there is Savannah Mustang Club. They are having their great annual show the day after Roebling on Oct 22.
