I know with the 4.6 2V motors @ WOT, there is a clutch that disengages the A/C in effect making the A/C just a pulley when @ WOT. Is the 4.6 3V in our Mustangs the same?

I am wondering because when I return to the track this spring, I intend to bypass the power-steering and possibly the A/C. If the A/C acts like the 2V, then there is no reason to bypass it.

TIA.

As long as you are changing belts, though, you might as well bypass it anyway. There is SOME parasitic loss from the pulley drag, not much, but it is there.
