Maybe a stupid question. But isn't dumping the clutch likely to cause the car to bog and the nose to come back down on you?

depends on how high you dump, for me no, car hooks and goes, noes down a bit because I stuck at the 1-2 shift

Couldn't dump it at 5k I would spin, could have to do with me having one really sticky tire and the other not so much.

I slipped ever so slightly though. I didn't ride it out or anything but I didn't feel confident in dumping it also felt like the nose was falling down if I let the clutch out too quickly. 1st gear with 3.31's is a bit lame lol

what were your 60's dumping from 4700 with this tire? did you chirp a bit?

I've pulled as low as 1.59 60, typically in the 1.6x area with good prep and 1.7x with mediocre prep

check my youtube profile "stkjock" there are a bunch of launch vids there. I'd link you to it but it's blocked at my office.

Thanks. Guess that's why drag racing is murder on clutches lol. Dumping or slipping at high rpm.

I'm gonna guess that since the revs have to drop when you dump it that some "bog" may be impossible to avoid however if you dump high enough it's going to be nearly imperceptible since the engine stays in the power band. I believe that's essentially what you are trying to tell me. :)

I wonder what would be worse on a clutch. Dumping it at 6000rpm or slipping it out from 4500.

I found 17psi worked best on my set up, a good burnout at 50-55 MPH for 3-4 seconds, roll up and let her rip

Did you have 3.31's before what was the decrease on the ET if you remember? :)
I'm waiting on buying a trutrac before i get them installed. while i'm in there, i've been doing a one wheel peel :(
I had 3.55s. I honestly can't remember my decrease in trap speed.....on my 12.9 pass I went 103mph.

Might be pretty accurate. I don't rely on those things though but these are supposedly my stats...

ET: 13.375
mph: 105.11
weight: 3490

Your HP computed from your vehicle ET is 259.46 (sounds low) rear wheel HP and 288.29 flywheel HP.
Your HP computed from your vehicle MPH is 292.10 (sounds close) rear wheel HP and 324.56 flywheel HP.

324 at the flywheel lol

According to some calculators I should be running 12.97x's (not)

Yeah bro right here http://www.wallaceracing.com/et-hp-mph.php. I weighed my mustang with me in it and it was 3580. I had basically zero gas in the car and all I did was have a super light weight battery in it. I weigh 180 lbs. According to that site your car is capable of .....

Your Horsepower computed from your vehicle weight of 3712 pounds and MPH of 105 is 353.18.

Your ET / MPH computed from your vehicle weight of 3712 pounds and HP of 353.18 is 12.76 seconds and MPH of 105.01 MPH.

So yeah your car is easily capable of high 12's with that MPH.

Told you so LOL!!!! Congrats on the new PB friend.

i was haunted by 12.5's today at e-town. Dont have the slips, they are out in the car but the first run was a 12.51 at 119.06 with a 1.96 60'. the second run was a 12.55 at 118.2 with a 1.88 60'. the thirs run im embarrased to post due to the amount of fuck ups i made. I was pissed they took my tech card after 3 runs, i wanted more for the damn 40bucks we had to pay. plus there wasnt that many people.
