ORSCA Hot Street has been designed for real live, late model factory muscle cars to have a place to run heads up in front of good crowds. Sponsored by Vengeance Performance, they have asked me to help get the car count bumped up a bit. They didn't really know where and how to market the class so I offered to drag some of you southeastern US guys into the fray. This is also a great way for the shops that help build these cars for some of you to get their work out into a new audience. No more index stuff or True Street crap. Real world, heads up, 1/8th mile racing.

Here is a brief rundown of the rules. Ron at Vengeance wanted to have cars similar to what showed up at the Hot Rod Magazine Drags last weekend be the ones who show up for this class. Real world, late model, STREET cars capable of running anywhere from 6.50-7.00 in the eighth mile.

All racers also understand and agree that after winning an event they may be challenged by a member of ORSCA staff or a fellow racer. Should this situation arise said racer will comply with the dispute/challenge in a timely/professional manner.

Ok girls....time to go play. If you have a car that even remotely resembles these rules then it is time to ante up and bring whatever shop you represent and S197Forums into ORSCA. The payout is only $350 but Ron wants to get the car counts up before pitching in anymore money. We discussed this at length and he stated that if we see good car counts at the last four races then he was considering $750-1000 to win next season. Here is the remaining schedule:

August 22-23, Atlanta Dragway, Commerce, Georgia
September 18-20, Alabama International Raceway, Steele, Alabama
October 10-11, Atlanta Dragway, Commerce, Georgia
November 6-8, Montgomery Motorsports Park, Montgomery, Alabama

Kind of weird they would limit the whipple to a 2.3 when the 3.4 doesn't make any more power then the KB 2.8H.

Also, only a 28 tall tire, no ET Street? Wonder if an M&H or the M/T DR would be legal as technically they are both a DOT tire.

Of course, its on the east coast. No fun for me.

Well, SD, it looks like I'm gonna miss you when you come to Atlanta, as I have an expense paid "Mancation" at a friend's house on Panama City Beach that weekend.

And yes, I'd rather spend a weekend on the beach than at a drag strip.

Paul, it is saying do not use the original E.T. Streets......not the radials.....

All D.O.T tires are permitted, M&H, M.T. Drag radials, Nitto's....etc.etc....

And there are very few cars in this class.....At Z-Max in N.C. about a month ago, 5 cars showed up.....Fastest car was a Corvette that ran 7.23.......

A lot of guys on here would have a very big chance to win this class......No, it doesn't pay A LOT...but, it is a nice class, and I will be making Montgomery.....

So S.D., better have your shit together in Montgomery........LOL.....

Rallying call for the serious drag radial racers. John Kolivas wrote it on the windows of his car for the winner's circle pictures after he dismantled the Super Street Outlaw field at Joliet running on 275/60/15 Mickey Thompson drag radials. The rest of the field was on real 28x10.5 slicks!

Stacy,
Be sure and introduce yourself to Ron from Vengeance. He is the class sponsor and I'm sure he'd be glad to see y'all out there. I won't be able to make the August race since the kiddo starts school the following Monday morning. I will be at the last three events with the twin turbo car.

Real world, late model, STREET cars capable of running anywhere from 6.50-7.00 in the eighth mile.
Why do I get the feeling that 6.50 to 7.00 in the 1/8 would not even be remotely close to competitive in this class???
