A built 8.8 will take plenty of power (800+)... But there's nothing wrong with the extra piece of mind with a 9".

oh yeah...i completely agree the 8.8 is a great piece but since i have to replace the housing i might as well put a 9" in and pretty much forget about it besides the lube changes...
