At 65k the alternator on my 07 went out. My questions:

I think there is a TSB on this. Is this true?

If there is a TSB, does this mean I can get a new free alternator from the dealer despite the fact that I am out of warentee?

Does anyone know a good link that explains how to remove the alternator?

Does anyone know of a good link that explains what the problem is with the alternator and how to fix it?

Yes there was a TSB on alternator failures but it only applies to 2005/06 model years - not 2007. TSBs do not alter/extend warranty coverage.

Alternator R&I

OEM replacement - 7R3Z-10346-BRM (Remanufactured)

P/A also offers a replacement alternator in 130 or 200 amp versions

brilliant!

Thanks tmcolegr, that was exactly what I was looking for.

edit: alternator removed. That took about 10 minutes. Now I just need to trade it in for a rebuilt one...
