When you ran the wire up to the battery, did you have to remove the battery to get to the grommet underneath it? Got any pics?

TIA

Crap. I thought that you had to run a hot wire directly to the battery on the chase type lights. Thanks anyhow though

I'm just trying to finish up something that I started 6+ months ago :whistling:

I did mine in May 2005, I went to the battery. And yes, I removed the battery to feed the wire through.

I grabbed my hot connection off of the power connections for those Shaker 1000 amplifiers.

Seems to work just fine and I didn't have to run a mile of wire!

Hope this helps.

I have amplifiers in my trunk allready with distribution blocks, so I just caught power there. BUT...
When I did the GT500 fuel pumps on a Whipple install for a buddy of mine (NOLAGT on the other forum), I did not have to remove the battery to feed the wire. I also did not have to remove it when I ran the power for my bottle heater at BAP through the same grommet.
I did have to remove the inner fender liner and then get a couple of new clips from Ford.

My kit from Meter4it actually came with a spade nose connector that plugged into the passenger fuse block. You could probably get one at Radioshack or Autozone for 10 cents.

I hate wiring.

LOL. Actually, I was trying to figure out where the grommet behind the battery was located because I need to run a wire through there (and I wasn't near an S197). As luck would have it, Nick (S197GT) was at the Whipple factory yesterday and with his Redtop I got a good clear view at the back. However, thanks for all the help guys.

Add me to the "add-a-fuse" system in the passenger compartment...

Didn't meter-4-it add that writeup after someone on the other site did the add-a-fuse thing?

I wasn't looking for a 12v source. I needed to pass some wires through the firewall on the passenger side.

"May I speak with his brother then? Mike? Mike Hunt?"

Crap, I found the webpage and the instructions aren't at all as I pictured. I apologize for my "Senior" moment, but after all, the "S." in Stanley S. Roper is for "Snotty". I pullled my battery, yanked the grommet out and saw the cabin filter staring right back at me. Dammit. Right turn Clyde.
