S197s Killin it at NMCA today -- my best pics

Some pictures I took today at the NMCA event at Fontana. Some CJ mustangs just killing it, the white one turned an 8.44.

Mark's KB 7 second mustang had a problem today. Thought the left wheel locked up on him, he stood on the brakes but still just tagged the wall. He drove it off. Later I heard he didn't turn the key all the way over and the steering wheel locked on him. That is what I heard, not sure if true.

Mark did say he doesn't need the key to start the car but needs it to unlock the steering.

Damn that is more damage then I thought. It didn't look like he hit the wall that hard. Sucks, but cool he is still racing. Do you happen to know what brand hood he runs?

I saw this pair out there. The bottom one smoked the top one by 4 buses!!!

psfracer - I believe he's still running the 3" VFN pin on hood I sold him. He said he actually popped that dent out of the CF bumper.

Twin turbo definitely seems to be the way to go these days.... all though I have seen some really fast single turbo and pro charger cars. And then of course the CJs are 4.0 whipples. This white one turned an 8.44:
