The GT Track Pack has only one nagging issue, the igniter click that's been there since day one and the dealer says nothing they or Ford can do about it. So far, oil analysis comes back clear after each oil change. Otherwise, a great car that has several of the BOSS components anyway. The GT primarily sees autox and HPDE's, hence the lowish mileage. The BOSS would see the same.

Is the Aluminator engine worth the price of admittance.....

Well I believe at last some early built 2014 Mustang GT 6sps had leftover Boss engines installed. For sure they had Boss ECUs installed.

The Boss 302 engine isn't technically an Aluminator - it is a Roadrunner. And yes, the engine characteristics are so much different than a Coyote of the same vintage. Plus, it's a Boss! I've owned 2 Bosses (still have my Laguna) and drove a 2011 5.0 Brembo pack car and the difference in feel was night and day. The Boss feels a lot more aggressive and the way the engine pulls to 7500 (or beyond if tuned) is just incredible. I love the raw and rowdy Boss feel.

Also, don't forget factory sidepipes!

Some studies suggest a Boss Roadrunner Long Block would run better with the standard Coyote intake to 6850RPM. For sure the early 14 ECMs are interchangeable with the 13 Boss ECMs.

Like mentioned the Boss 302 is not an Aluminator, it is a Roadrunner. Comes down to how much money you want to put out. Personally if you have a good running GT I wouldn't trade for a Boss. Too much money you already paid into admission to get into a mustang. Just modify the GT, doesn't take much aftermarket to handle better than a factory Boss.

Don't get me wrong, Boss 302 is an amazing solid axle mustang and I like to own one but I just don't see where makes sense going from a GT to a Boss. If you said doing auto crossing, S550 is probably a better setup with the independent rear

I drove three 2018 Mustang GTs. One $29,000 Base, one Track Pack for $32,000 and one with every bell and whistle possible for about $40,000. I didn't like any of them. Coming from a 3450 lbs 2014 Mustang GT with run flat tires and a cross brace, they felt heavy and slow. Although not as heavy and slow as a 2018 392 Challenger Scat Pack on sale for $35,000 out the door or as nervous as a 2018 Corvette Base for $55,000.
