a lot of the difference is in the construction of the different shifters. What type of bushings used, the look, and ease of installation are all factors. If you ask 20 different people which shifter is the best, you'll probably get 20 different answers. As long as it isn't a Bullitt, then the stock boot and shift knob works on our Tri-ax no problem.
