Slow vert top

The wife said the top on her car is getting slower. It's always moved a little slow to me, but I'm coupe guy. Is there anything I can before I drop the coin on a new pump? Would a low fluid level cause a slow top?

I had a 01 gt vert that had a slow top and would get stuck closing sometimes.The pump was low on fluid so I filled it up and it fixed the problem.

Yup pull the back seat and there is a plug on top of the pump make sure its full of fluid.

The reservoir will be full with the top down right? Trying to make sure I know what I'm doing before I tear into the wife's car.

Yes I topped mine off with the top down.

I finally got around to checking it out and found what looked like gear oil in the reservoir. I drained the reservoir and refilled it with Dexron III. It seems to moving a little faster now.
