I noticed that some usernames, including mine, show up as bolded. I've got a hunch that it has something to do with "the club" user group within Vbulletin.

supporting member - bold blue
vendor - bold and bright green
moderator - bold dark red / maroon
administrator - bold bright red

Whats the difference between Contributing and Supporting?
contributing founder is from the April 2007 inception
supporting member is for those who have "paid" a subscription to the site.
supporting member is for those who have "paid" a subscription to the site.

05yellowgt should not be bold blue, since he's not a supporting member, but he is (check first post here)
Steedman07 should be bold blue, as he is a supporting member, but he isn't (check last post before mine)
i recently became a supporting member, but i know for a fact my name was bold for a while before
i thought it may have something to do with being a "senior member" with a certain number of posts, but also found other "senior members" with more posts and non-bold names..
also to think it maybe reputation related.. again steedman07 has a WAY higher rep than me..
my name is bold.. his isn't
