OK guys and gals I took some advice on my car being lowered and needed camber caster plates to fix my tire wear problems thanks I now have another question about these plates have other people had issues with them being loud or noisy seems like every time I hit a dip or bump there a knocking and. the sound is defiantly coming from the strut are both left and right. Any help with this would be great because I thought I was solving a problem and it looks like I just created a new one.

Any aftermarket suspension part can increase NVH. Have you gone back over everything to verify proper install and torque? Have you reached out to Steeda for some help?

I ran the Steeda caster/camber plates for a couple years. They worked OK until they started banging and clanging when hitting bumps or pot holes. They have O-Rings inside the canter section that failed and allowed the parts to bang together. I put the stock upper mounts back on rotated 180* .

Well Thank You that sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. I swear I've had more trouble getting a quiet and comfortable ride out of this car. Tell me do you known if coilers would fix all my issues with noise and camber ?

Sorry, I don’t understand “coilers”. If you mean coil over they would require the same type upper mount so I don’t imagine any difference. If I were going to run an adjustable upper strut mount I would simply look at a different brand “design” than the Steeda I have used. For your comparison the springs, struts and extra weight on the nose of my 2010 make it set about 2” lower than stock. I am using the stock strut mounts rotated 180* and I have 0.9* negative camber. The car handles well and I do not suffer adverse tire ware. I would only use an adjustable mount if I wanted to play road racer and was looking for more camber.

The best street combo I've used to date is Bilstein shocks w/Roush springs w/GT-500 shock mounts. Stance is lower about 1/2 - 1 in F/R and handling is well balanced. As Midlife says rotate the upper shock mounts 180. That'll put the camber right around stock. I've been running that way for a couple of years with no ill effects.

My steeda mounts are loud but so we're the originals. The originals broke, also. The steeda isn't machined correctly on one side and the bearing race is broken

So overall pretty awesome. I am going to try to fix them or sell the car.

I am about 1” all around on Ford Racing “P” springs. I only used Moog camber bolts to get the alignment within spec. Struts are Ford Racing with GT500 mounts in the stock direction.

Thanks fellows these all sound like great suggestions Looks like I need to buy some new strut mounts I guess I'll go back to either stock or the GT 500 mounts. Should I buy coilovers , Blistiens or just stay with my KONA Yellows ? I'm so tired of dealing with fixing shit I've already spent money to fix and here I am having to go over it again. Grrrrrrrrr.

It's a cheap car with a cheap front suspension. Generally always going to be spending money - key is to stay close to stock, stay away from steeda stuff and offshore coil overs. I'm not even convinced the stock mounts have any camber built into them - they're probably symmetrical.

I just swapped from gt500 upper mounts to maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates. They installed perfectly and work really well, but they are extremely loud over rough roads. I’m seriously thinking about going back to gt500 mounts because they are that loud.

It’s a real kick in the balls to buy the new gt500 mounts, then buy the CC plates, just to turn around and buy another set of gt500 mounts. Live and learn I guess.

I hear you and I feel like I'm in the exact same spot as you, Trashed my GT500 mounts to go to the STEEDA heavy duty CC plates. Now they bump & Bang with every turn on dip. There fine on the highway but on the street they're crap....UGH !

My upper strut mount nuts loosened on my Steeda upper strut mounts a couple weeks after I installed them, made a loud clunking noise whenever I went over bumps. Did you check the torque on everything like 86GT351 said?
Did you get in touch with Steeda? They've got good tech support, helped me through issues in the past. Theyve also sent me replacement bushings before for free (I just had to prove I got the parts from an authorized seller).

I switched out my Steeda mounts for Maximum Motorsports (got aftermarket LCA's and the Steeda ones didn't have enough camber range to compensate) and they're pretty loud too. I still have the Steeda mounts if you want them (if you want to compare them to yours)

I have been using the Vorshlag Camber/Caster plates for about 4 years now. Never had any problems with clunking or other noise.

I don’t know how many different camber plates Steeda has offered over the years. This is the set I used for a few years. I had no problems with them until one began to bang going over bumps.

If you look at the nipple on the center section you can see two “O” Rings. These had failed and allowed the spring perch to wobble around on the nipple. I replaced the “O” Rings with some from a hydraulic supply house but they were not adequate and failed rapidly.
