Thought I would save myself the trouble of finding all the parts at home depot when its on the other side of the island so I purchased the steeda unit.

I cut out the stock quick disconnect fittings as instructed and then came the problem. My kit came with one 3/8 hose. The qd fittings will not fit into that hose. They look like they would fit a 5/8 hose. So do I need to hunt for parts or am I doing something wrong here?

From all the posts I have read it sounds like you attach a 3/8 hose onto the steeda fittings which attach to the bottle then shove that hose into a 5/8 hose (tighten with hose clamps) and then attach the stock qd fittings.

Or I could use some 3/8 to 5/8 push lock fittings to reduce the hose size so it fits the steeda bottle fittings and the stock qd fittings.

If my kit was shipped complete then what a POS it is!

Can somebody help a brother out?

ive seen the fittings fit the hoses and not. With the ones that didnt they had to get a new hose that fit on the fittings. Take the fitting and hose to a local auto store and have them match it up for you.

But just to let you know, u paid way to much for something u could have bought at home depot for more then half the cost. Or buy a real one with a breather.

Driver's side is 5/8 and passenger side is 3/8 I believe. Some companies, like UPR, make a drivers and passenger side can with different fitting. I went with the UPR because it looks nice than the Home Depot fix. I also backed away b/c the Husky Home Depot filters say on them NOT TO USE WITH SYNETHIC OILS. I know plenty of guys are running them and I'm sure they're fine, but I had the money. You could get an adapter from Lowes/Home Depot. Did you ask steeda if they sent you a passenger side one by accident?

Which part # did you get? We make 2 different ones. They can be model year specific, and the 05+ cars should use the kit for the GT500's as they have a larger diameter hose. If you bought it direct through us, give me a call, and I can get an exchange done for you if you indeed ordered/ received the one for 2004 and lower cars.

I just called brenspeed whom I purchased through. Salesguy talked to one of their installers and informed me that the kit use to come with some 3/8 to 1/2 barbs which fit the factory qd's.

I got ripped off. Dont buy the Steeda kit.....its a POS. Overpriced and imcomplete. How can they make a kit that clearly does not work. Fuck steeda I will never buy any of their shit ever again.

I just finished my rant and saw your post. This is the kit I got 555-3710. I ordered through brenspeed. I just spoke to them, they did not mention there were different kits available. They said the kit use to come with connectors.

I am stuck. Cannot drive my car. Its Christmas week!! This isnt worth $69 I paid for it.

Just throw some 5/8 inch cap/plugs on the 2 fittings until you get the right kit.

Im even gonna defend STEEDA on this one. They do make good stuff but even something as simple as this, you need to make sure you do your hw and ask questions. Brenspeed is a middle-man sales shop. Even if a shop sells a product cheaper then the company who makes it, you should always ask them questions. When i buy something, i do so much homework and call. Yeah you can read what they say on the website but asking questions makes it alot easier. I bet if you call the local STEEDA rep on here and talk to him he can fix the issue for you.

I was ordering other parts through brenspeed and asked them which oil seperator they recomended. The sales guy whom was very nice and informative suggested the steeda......said it worked better. Bren doesnt sell it cheaper if I remember correctly. I got a kit that does not work....and I am frustrated. I got the impression from bren that they are unaware of year specific kits.

I imagine the steeda rep might send me the proper parts, but dude, I got a life and am on an island 2500 miles from the west coast. I cannot wait for parts to arrive. I need to drive today. I didnt purchase a supercharger. Its a $69 kit, it should come complete and not strand me. I had no idea it would not work until I cut my pcv tube up to remove the qd fittings. At that point it was too late.:mad2:

Dude i totally understand and been there. The smallest cheapest damn parts for these cars change everything. Esp, when no one has the part and you have to wait. Preaching to the public bro. I would honestly take the part and the hose on the car and go t a local auto store and have them match it up for a temp fix until Steve from STEEDA can gt you the part you need.

oh, and fuck brenspeed!!!

$17:43 for half inch fuel hose, two reducers and 4 half inch pipe clamps. Now it will work.

Should have started @ home depot and saved money and hassle.
