I'm trying to make my mustang faster on a budget as of now I have flowmaster outlaw ab and a bassani x pipe the stock cats the still their I'm thinking intake and tune wold really wake the car up since I decided to do exhaust first the car feels more free and faster but since the motor is stock the difference is minimal to none , I was think ing jlt 93 race tune and forder racong tb would make it a decent highway pull car ? Any suggestions or ideas?

3rd times a charm, try copying it one more time and posting it in Chit Chat. Then hope a mod deletes your first 2 attempts before____ is thrown upon you.

Dude. Seriously, punctuation is your friend. One comma and two question marks in that entire paragraph? Made my head hurt.
Sorry to rain on your parade, keep reading and keep posting. Just make sure it's in the right section, ok?
Welcome aboard
Of course, it's ironic that the thread I read previous to this one was the "grammar Nazi" thread LOL

Before you decide to throw any kind of money at your stock 3v, figure out what combinations have worked best for others on this forum. Once you decide what your goals are, aim for that. An intake and a throttle body isn't going to make a 3v "fast". If you want fast, get a blower.

4.10's for the rear, CAI, and a tune will wake it up. Don't bother with the throttle body

So a tune will wake up your car ?

Mostly it will command more torque with less pedal. This gives a huge boost in "felt power". Essentially waking it up.

OP: A good tune and cai will be the biggest bang for the buck with a stock 3v. Add Hot Rod cams and longtubes for about 330rwhp.

The stock 2005-2009 3v air intake is a restriction, the throttle body isn't until you get to the level of a positive displacement supercharger making over 500rwhp. A larger tb won't gain anything. In most cases it degrades the driveability of the car. Ford's air predictions for the stock tb are right on the money, when you change the airflow/tb blade ratio a whole lot of parameters need to be changed to stop the ecu from thinking there is a problem.

Don't waste your money on a throttle body. Use the funds elsewhere. I would stick to an intake and tune. Suspension won't add ponies. Maybe do lower control arms with the money you save from not buying a throttle body or delete plates.

Yea I'm thinking of going with the jlt intake and 93 octane tune and leaving it alone until its paid off and mine. Right now I'm just fixing everything that needs to be fixed . Preventive maintance.

On a stock 3v motor, a JLT III intake is pretty much just overkill with it's larger 110mm MAF..

Unless your running either FI, high flow heads, cams, larger intake manifold or long tube headers, your stock 3v isn't really going to benefit from the larger JLT Maf housing..

IMO your much better off looking into the Airaid CAI that offers a non tune insert which allows you to run your car on the stock 3v tune and still provide better airflow over the stock airbox..

Then when your ready to upgrade from stock to the mods I listed that actually require more airflow, you just simply remove the non-tune insert and your Airaid intake tube becomes a 100mm MAF that is more than large enough to provide plenty of airflow for those mods..

Just bear in mind that once the non-tune insert has been removed, you'll then be required to have your car's ECM re-tuned..

Another thing you could do is to get a stock 2010 air intake. It will provide the extra air you need, look stock, and not cost a whole lot. Using a 2010 stock cai will require relocating the power steering reservoir and of course it will require a tune.

Here's another option you may want to consider.. Look into the 05-09 Saleen 98mm airbox lid, as it provides a larger MAF housing that provides more airflow over the stock 2010 airbox..

Here's the advantages of the Saleen airbox lid..

1.. It will fit directly onto your stock airbox..
2.. You won't have to relocate your power steering reservoir..
3.. You keep your factory airbox..
4.. It's much cheaper over the stock 2010 airbox..
5.. Can be tuned for N/A or S/C applications..
6.. It's the stock airbox that was factory installed on all 2007-2009 Saleen Extreme supercharged models..

I've provided both the links and images below..

What brand of headers should I go with , no seems to prefer one brand . Plus I have a bassani x pipe ( cut and clamp version ) so I am assuming that in order for the fit of hi flow cats go right go with bassani hi flow cats . I'm thinking tht since they were designed together they go good together?
