Ultimate Outlaws S197 Shootout
General Description
S197 Shootout is designed for any S197 body vehicles. ('05 and later Mustangs are referred to as S197 cars). The S197 Shootout will be contested on an Index based format.
Class Description:
S197 Shootout is designed for any S197 body vehicles. ('05 and later Mustangs are referred to as S197 cars). S197 Shootout is based on a dial your own elapsed time (E.T.) which you must choose prior to the first round of eliminations. Once first round of eliminations has run changing your dial-in or personal index is prohibited. Best reaction in Qualifying will determine #1 qualifier and order cars top to bottom. First round will then be laddered on a NHRA Sportsman ladder.
CLASS INFORMATION, LADDER TYPE, & TREE
The class will be a quick 32 class with vehicles will be qualified by best reaction time in qualifying earning #1 qualifier. Negative reaction times (red lights) will be placed at the bottom of the ladder, the more negative or faster the (rt), the farther down the ladder the run will be placed. For cases in which identical elapsed time packages are made, qualifying position will be based on a first-come first served: Class will be laddered according to qualifying positions following the first round, and then advance thru eliminations. Once a dial-in or personal index is claimed in first round it will not be allowed to change for the remainder of the event.
Quick 32, NHRA Sportsman Ladder, Pro .500 Tree, Handicap Start.

LANE CHOICE
During eliminations, better reaction time gets lane choice.
DEEP STAGING
Deep staging is permitted, however not advocated. If you plan to deep stage, it is strongly recommended that you boldly display the words DEEP on all four windows, in plain view of the starter. It is always the driver's responsibility to stage the vehicle prior to the tree being activated. In any event, the driver must be prepared to leave as soon as the final stage light is lit.
A competitor with the words DEEP displayed on the window is not necessarily obligated to deep stage. As well, the starter is not necessarily obligated to wait on a driver to deep stage, even if the words DEEP are displayed on the vehicle. All drivers must be prepared to leave as soon as
the final stage light is lit.
Curiosity Staging: Enforced, drivers will allow time for opponent to set pre-stage in a reasonable amount of time. Starter will ultimately determine is driver is acting unsportsmanlike. Drivers, who in the eyes of the starter, purposely set both bulbs will be backed out. Multiply infractions are cause for disqualification.

Pete we tried to, but we had to wait for our sponsor to give us the green light.

Thanks Chris! Thanks Dave! See you there...

No problem Art, happy to do it! Hope to see a lot more of you guys and girls come battle it out for this one. The Shootout at Atco was a lot of fun.

Sorry there wasn't more time before the announcement. Had to make sure we could definitely make it.

Looking forward to the barbecue Chris, sounds like a hell of a time!
