Does anyone know which strut brace will clear a 3V that's sporting the Ford plastic plenum cover? We tried the Ford Racing one and a slightly re shaped 2011 take off but both hit the cover. Its for a friends 2007 and he kind of likes the cover so my suggestion of ditching it didn't fly.

The 2011 I think is correct no fit, the coyote is actually shorter motor. The Ford racing one should fit? If its very close, some people install washers under it

This version of BMR fits

Steeda website says may need modification

Thanks all, think the BMR or the Boss brace should do the trick.

And the Boss version I've seen mixed info on

Tried boss myself, smoking deal from CJponyparts. It DOES clear the 3v with manifold cover, I do expect it to rub my hoodliner as just the manifold cover does (think liner sags). It does not bend hood at all though, and closes exactly the same. What it does touch is an ac line very corner in front of driver

Kind of a waste of money to buy a STB for these cars. If you get one for a smoking deal then go for it if you like the looks but don't expect it to do much of anything in terms of front end rigidity. It lacks a 3rd point of attachment to something "out of plane" with the movement of the towers (like the firewall) to lock their movement down.

The Boss brace does fit, and it does rub on the hood liner. I've had mine on for a year, and there are some light wear marks on the brace from the liner. Mine doesn't touch any lines though...

Agreed, and if you go with the Boss brace, you will get wear marks on it.
