This past weekend the NMRA held their World Finals at Beech Bend raceway in Bowling Green, KY. For those of you who have never been to this event its the most exciting NMRA race of the year. All the big guns are out and looking for that infamous NMRA class champions ring! Also this event hosts 5.0 Mustang Magazines King of the Street shoot out which brings the worlds baddest and fastest street cars to the proving grounds. The NMRA series as a whole is probably the best ALL Fords show anyone could possibly ask for and we are proud to be a part of it now for three full seasons as a class sponsor.

The 2010 season has been an exciting one to say the least, coming into the last event there was a total of 7 racers who could possibly win the S197 only SuperStang class. There has been fierce competition between all the racers in the class and this competition has drawn more attention to the class and a bigger feild of competitors!

“JDM Engineering’s Super Stang class had 24 of the coolest late-model Mustangs on the planet vying for all the gold. With the points battle on the line, Chris Parisi went just far enough to catch and surpass points leader Lloyd Mikeska to repeat as class champion, but neither one made it to the finals.” – Jason Reiss NMRA Associate Editor

Our 2010 Roush Mustang driven by Chris Parisi (2009's class champ) was a half a round back out of first place coming into the Bowling green race. That was less than 50 points, each round win being worth 100 points. So he had to advance past the current leader Llyod Mikeska and make sure that 3 other competitors didnt get past him! Chris was able to do so after Llyod lost in the early rounds to Don Justus a well seasoned racer. Chris won his round with ease and at this time he climbed into the lead. First round race shown here....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A67jFXdNho8 he won the next round and doing so he secured his 2nd consecutive championship in the SuperStang class and did it under the ROUSH/Team JDM name!!! We couldnt have been more happy with Chris's and the Car's performance all year. Both the car and Chris outperformed our expectations, Chris doing so by going from a 15 sec V6 car that he won with last year to our low, low 10 sec Roush car this year. No one thought, including us that he could pull off another championship making this switch but after the first few races he adjusted to the car and was able to pull it all together in the end!

Chris might have stood a better chance at winning the entire event but the car was losing 3rd gear in the transmission all day Sunday and it actually gave out on his last pass. Which is fine by us because this is the factory stock 5R55S from Ford! We have made nearly 100 1/4 mile passes on it in the 10 sec zone or better! We plan to put a TCI Superstreet fighter in the car and take it to the track for some 9 sec runs this fall. We have been limited to 10.00 at the NMRA races because the cars roll bar is only legal for that ET.

For those of you who might have noticed we added new paint work to the car before this weekend. We decided to have the stripes that were on the side of the car painted on and we also changed up the hood and roof strip design. My father worked with a local vinyl shop to create the pattern and then we sent it out to Michigan to Alternative Auto Technologies where Brian Chambers and Todd Helms worked their magic. We wanted the car to stand out more so we figured black hi gloss paint instead of the matt black would look great! We also added "727R" logo to the hockey stick stripes being as the car makes over 680 RWHP we figured 727 was a fair estimate at the engine HP, although probably highly underrated just like the boys at Roush seem to do ; )

I wanted to share our weekend with you guys, we were very excited when we first got our drag racing deal set up with Roush and are looking forward to see what 2011 brings! With the new 5.0 Mustangs out expect to see a Roush TVS Supercharged car at the drag strip next year running the JDM colors!!:bang:

Here are some pics of the car that were taken this weekend!!!
