Vortech V2 oiling issue

My V2 was making a horrible noise so I took it off and realized it was a bearing problem. I wondered why because it has only about 5k total miles. Oil feed and return lines were clear. I tried manually blowing through oil inlet but couldn't so I took out the factory installed fitting and it appeared to be clogged. I got it cleaned out and now it's fine.
Has anyone else had this issue?
How do I prevent this from happening again?
Should I rebuild it myself or send it out?

I've heard mixed reviews on doing it yourself or the 928 motorsports kits. You could always pick up a used head unit for around 1k and sell the old one.

I would change my oil and strain it as it comes out so you can look for the clot.

I ordered the kit with the viton seal for $205 from http://www.superchargerrebuild.com/?page_id=6. This writeup helped me with about all the info I needed: http://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l-...-write-up.html . I used a local machine shop to press the impeller off and back on instead of hitting the thing with a hammer, added $40. I was/am willing to rebuild it myself again if it fails prematurely compared to sending it to Vortech, may take that in consideration when thinking of doing this. It is much less complicated than putting a motor together in an average Joe's garage.

Maybe you could do away with the oil screen and put an inline filter in that can be cleaned every oil change. I dont have that issue with the V3, but it is just a though.
