AWSOME…thanks, just watched a vid about it!Yep... That's a thrust bearing for the rear of the crank. The block side bearing doesn't have a wrap around lip but the crank cap does... So that little piece goes in there to make the lip a full circle.

That is the thrust bearing. Not part of the thrust bearing.@ hollowdwelller you should ask yourself..or better your engine shop. where is the second part oft he thrust bearing ? Hope they not did replace only on part of the Thrust bearing.
This bearing is critical...for the fore/aft movement of the crank !!
The other half of the thrust bearing is a part of the bearing itself. One side of the #5 main bearing set has the "lips" and the other side does not... So they put that "C" piece in to complete the thrust bearing circle on the back of the block.@ hollowdwelller you should ask yourself..or better your engine shop. where is the second part oft he thrust bearing ?
