^ Did that today...certainly a grand time!

Got the rest of my yard done as well. Looks like I'm gonna need to start mowing twice a week now with all this rain we've been getting.

Finally got all the moving boxes out of the garage so we could both park in there.

About a week ago I finally got a new dishwasher to replace my new unit that kept leaking from the overflow.
New piece:

Today I got the "luxury vinyl tile" installed in the kitchen, entryway and dining area.
Chose to have some of the carpet cut away to make more room for a larger table in the dining area:

I still have to install the new base trim, re-install the closet doors and a couple shoe shelves in one of the closets, a bunch of little touch-ups here and there, and of course, get the new stove and fridge delivered/installed.

But I finally am getting close to finishing this place!!!

Trying to convince myself to diy the deck on the back of the house. Want to do 12x20 attached to the back of the house so that we don't have to walk up and down the stairs to let the dogs out, grill out, or just chill outside.

I'm going to hire someone to install the door going out of the house.

Decks aren't bad, I've done a couple. One piece of advice - don't waste your money on the 5/4 "decking boards" if you do one. Go ahead and buy real 2x stock, or if you can afford it, the composite stuff. The decking boards suck after a year or two. With proper care, the 2x material will last many years over.

Go composite, if you can. You'll thank me in 3 years.

Composite is out of the budget right now otherwise it'd be a no brainer.

The only reason I'm hesitant to do it myself is that it's about 10' up from the ground.

Plus I've never removed vinyl siding before. I've built smaller decks on brick homes.

Is that the vinyl tile that you can grout?
