Replaced my stepper motors, the gas gauge has been going nuts.

First took note of the far left boundary to calibrate for reassembly.

Installing new racing seats... Can't believe how heavy the stock driver seat was. Pretty nice seat and fairly comfortable. Seats are the Forza Sport. I am also going to delete rear seat and install Watson 6pt cage.

Those look nice. Are the inserts Tan? It's hard to tell in the photo.

Got the MGW Gen3 shifter installed. It's pretty nice. I haven't tried any higher RPM shifts, just a quick drive around the neighborhood as a test drive. Smooth and crisp shifts - like my old Barton but even better.

Installation was not too bad. I had to wedge a 2x4 between the transmission mount and the body to pull everything down far enough to get the stock shifter arm mounting bolt (on the transmission end) out. That was almost the worst of it.

The worst part of an aftermarket shifter installation is getting the rubber boot onto the shifter body. Mine is still in progress, I am sad to say.

Finally got the Mustangs in the garage today :D

Something EVIL lurks inside:

And yes, it's much happier in the heated garage, where it can look at the snow come down and not get covered by the white stuff, lol

And then I baptized the garage, the Mustang way:

And so did my girlfriend:

Going full retard with my car and making it drag only. Removing the heater box and all the venting behind the dash, switching to a powerglide transmission, fuel cell, and with the help of ubertuner Lito I will be going through the body and chassis wiring harnesses and removing all the un-necessary wiring which includes removing the smart junction box!.

Nope...I've killed 3 4r70 transmissions in 2 years and I'm tired of bringing a knife to a gun fight racing against the super pro guys. Time to level the playing field. I'll have a Hurst quarterstick shifter with the electric solenoid so the car will shift using a timer after the trans brake releases.

I'm also toying with the idea if I get the money together for 2016 in going with a stand-alone ECU. I'm considering the megasquirt 3pro...affordable and looks like it will do anything I need and then the Leash Electronics street/strip wiring board . http://www.leashelectronics.com/Street-Strip-Wiring-Board-SSWB.htm

wow, I didn't realize you killed 3 4r70s, who's build?

I'm guessing they can't take the S197 weight?

The first one which I killed twice was supposedly a Lentech build that I purchased used. Killed it the first time, rebuilt it and killed it again the beginning of this year. Then I got the used one built by Darrin Burch which I killed late october. I suspect I broke the stub shaft which is for 3rd gear but then having to move the car around a few times some metal made it's way through and hurt it some more.

I think I just race too much for a 4R70W trans. I have about 240 time slips from this year alone and I know I have thrown out at least 30 others so I have close to 300 track passes just in 2014. I use the trans brake and 2-step every pass and that's a lot of abuse.
