What would you guys choose?

Ok to start off im pretty new to this forum. I am on several other but I figured of all the forums im on you guys would have the best advise about my next car. I am looking at either getting a slightly used 2011 gt or 05-09 special edition (ex. shelby gt, bullit, gt/cs) I am really leaning towards either the shelby gt or the 2011 gt but im just not sure how bad insurance will be. So if insurances are about the same what would you guys go with? or any other suggestions? (really only looking at mustangs as im a huge FORD FAN and love the mustangs) Thanks in advance

Get the 2011, My #1 reason for this choice is the horsepower difference.

Oh, I didn't realize you had vision problems. Might want to go to an eye doctor for that.

And the only way to get 430 horsepower out of a 4.6 is forced induction, which is going to drive the price of your beloved '05-09 Mustang higher than the 5.0.

True story, my eyes do actually suck, and I'm only 21.

I respectfully disagree, though. You can pick up a used '05-'09 for $15,000 all day long, then toss in another $6,000 for a blower and some supporting mods.

That's simply not true. I paid $16K for my '05 GT with 13,000 miles on it. I've got a lot less than $5K into it and it rolls ~430ish RWHP pretty easily based on it's 1/4 mile performance.

The 2011+'s power potential is MUCH greater than the 05-10 3V, but the 3V is still a decent platform and it isn't that expensive to make it reasonably quick.

wow thanks guys for the input. didnt expect that many responses in one days time. I really like the 11+ way better than the 05-09 models but I have a feeling that the insurance is going to be way to high for me right now. (im only 21) How much do you guys think the price is going to drop for the used 11/12's when the 13's come out? I might be able to hold off long enough to fined a killer deal that I cant refuse. who knows...

Do your insurance quotes now, buy the car second! Also, take the time to get quotes from multiple companies. The rates can vary greatly.

On the other note.
05-09 for the looks
11+ for the power

However, as it was said above, you can make the 05-09's just as fast for the price difference of the 11+

Wait on a 2013, they're getting the same front end across the board between the gt500, Boss, GT, and V6. I love the GT500 front and wouldn't mind having it on my car but I'd hate to be called a poser.... I dislike the cobra emblem but anyways I digress.

Look at how many guys are dumping their 05-10's to "upgrade" to the 5.0 and the decision should be easy.

Pre 10's have a nicer behind, but thats about it, at least thats my opinion.

You guys have pretty much solidified my choice. I really want 11+. I just need to talk to my parents about letting me put it on their insurance. Which I think they will specially if I say the could be my graduation present as I graduate after this semester. And you only live once and I dont mind having to work a little harder to get what I want rather than settling for something else.
