UPDATE: Dawn and hot water worked well. Found one of the plates on top of the valves in the cylinder head, no signs of the other plate. Hope a prior owner found and removed it, no issues or errors for that cylinder as far as I can tell, and honestly I'm afraid to look =^0 Got everything back...

Thanks for the response, I tried using a longer M5 bolt to catch some thread deeper in, and it ended up going through the threaded bracket due to the crack(s). I ended up just put a wingnut on the end of the bolt. It has such a light torque spec that it should hold fine.

Just got an '08 GT for my son and when replacing coil packs and plugs noticed the bracket for cylinder 2 on the valve cover split, like someone over-torqued the bolt. The crack goes about 1/3 of the way down the threading and the oem bolt doesn't go far enough to catch. It looks like I have two...
