In need of help with crank no start

Do you have fuel pressure? Sounds like the pump took a dump

Crank no start only when hot: fuel related?

FIXED. It was leaky freaking injectors. Tossed em in and it starts at any temp after any amount of driving. Freaking finally. I did also replace the evap line and blew out the canister (unrelated) but will fill up the tank and see if THAT issue is fixed.

Crank no start only when hot: fuel related?

Trying to keep this updated. Issues persist, starts and runs great after it’s sat a day. If I leave it for an hour or less it’s questionable and embarrassing. Most recently it shuttered and cranked for 5-6 seconds and fired off, and hesitated on idle. Note: I did have those two stuck rich...

Crank no start only when hot: fuel related?

Made some progress via the EVAP canister out back. Found a little electrical tape repair from the PO. This is the hard plastic line (not the metal line) of the two that come off the canister assembly (also NOT the vent tube). I looked up and it goes to some sensor, then onto a nipple on the...

Crank no start only when hot: fuel related?

I’m tryinggg lol. But yes I will. Any truth to a failing CPS? No code for it but could be a weak signal and it keeps turning the motor over til it gets a reading

Crank no start only when hot: fuel related?

I still think some sort of fuel delivery. When it catches and starts it hesitates with really low RPM and settles out. Starved for fuel or can’t vent? I figured a CPS would trip a code for sure

Crank no start only when hot: fuel related?

Flicked the key to Run, pump of course primed. 44 PSI on my X4. Left it along for one hour and it slowly bled down to 35.5PSI. That’s fine isn’t it? I read somewhere if it holds within 5 PSI for 5 minutes it’s fine

Crank no start only when hot: fuel related?

Bumping this as the problem isn’t fully gone. Doesn’t love starting when hot, finally kicks off and the R’s drop way way down and it hesitates and recovers then is fine. Am I seeing a fuel pump and/or check valve at the pump issue? I’m tempted to toss in a good used pump assembly I have in...

411 on Disabling TPMS via Forscan

Roger that. What year is yours? I saw some conflicting stuff for 09. Mine being 07 I think this’ll work. I grabbed a new OBD2 cable that Forscan recommended off Amazon. Gonna give it a try. Did yours turn off fully, no chime warning or light?

411 on Disabling TPMS via Forscan

Tired of the random dead TPMS batteries in my wheels on the 07. How involved is getting Forscan going to disable? I heard its possible and quite easy. I have a windows laptop and USB to OBD2 cable from my BMW days

    WTB: Black 05-09 Hood

Ugh just got a scammer message me with a supposed hood. Watch out. We sourced a lively red hood I’ve test fit to the car, still would like all black and I’m not in a rush. Thx all

    WTB: Black 05-09 Hood

You sure? I appreciate it. We worked on it, and body shop said the cost to fix would outweigh another one and advised a second hood. P.S. the Lisle spark plug tool was a savior. 3 broke. I mailed it back before Xmas, hope you got it OK.

    WTB: Black 05-09 Hood

Back to looking for another 05-09 hood in black. One I bought ended up being bent which sucks. I know I can paint one but would prefer the aged paint to match my car. Located in AL/GA area. Prefer no hood scoop / holes but will consider all.

1 piece spark plug conversion (2007 GT)

Welp I just finished and lemme tell ya, my Milwaukee 1/2” impact didn’t work for shit. Power 1 and 2 wouldn’t touch em. After soaking and waiting etc I finally got the balls to hit it with power 3. It just unthreaded the housing off the core gently and left the ENTIRE porcelain core. Had to...

2007 Wiper Arm part number drama

Trying to get some OEM replacement wiper arms to replace the sun faded ones and I cannot, for the life of me, find the correct part number. Parts.Ford.Com shows NOTHING for my VIN, one part number I found says “won’t fit”, and Tasca shows a GT and a Shelby version. How can that be any different...

    Pinion seal replacement

Agreed. There’s no metal. In fact, the leak is so small nothing even makes it to the ground. Just a light film. Seal was quite brittle from our heat cycles. I did put a new nut on and did the trick above with a dial Torque wrench to compare.

    Pinion seal replacement

I can gladly put a fresh nut on but fear I’ll affect preload and damage bearings

    Pinion seal replacement

The thought process of reusing the nut is so you can achieve the same pinion preload. A new nut would not return to the same spot. I’ve done both.

    Pinion seal replacement

Doing the pinion seal on a leaky 2007 GT with 95k miles. I bought a new Ford pinion seal, I plan to reuse the flange (oil slinger) as well as the pinion nut. Any tips? I know its not the proper way of going through the diff etc. but should be fine. Will mark nut w.r.t. flange and check both nut...
