Front End topping out or Tire Bouncing traction lost

It could always be worse. You could live in a car-hating state that is in a hurry to close down all race tracks and develop the property into strip malls and track houses. I'll tune in next season to see the outcome of this cliffhanger.

    Rinse out the engine?

You would use a tool like this, to blow compressed air into the cylinders (https://www.harborfreight.com/cylinder-leak-down-tester-64918.html). The amount of leakage is indicated on the gauges. Leakage shouldn't exceed 15%. Listen for the location of leaking compressed air. Hissing from the...

I'd be curious about the results of a leakdown test.

    S650 REVEAL

Sometimes I'm a little short sighted, how does this benefit the "reimagined driving experience?" I could see an augmented reality night vision GPS combination.

    My Hybrid Car

I had heard that they were, at least, experimenting with shocks that work similar to an eddy current dyno, in Indy cars. I don't think that it would be specifically for the purpose of generating electricity. I did some prototype testing on linear generators a while back and the linear...

    Should I rebuild rearend

If you are going to sand blast it, any moving parts, including fasteners won't be happy after the fact. I would strip the housing completely for blasting, or wire wheel it.

Rear LCA experiences over the years

A lot of companies will use tubing, which doesn't fit the bolts really nice. The company, that I work for, race preps side-by-sides. For the suspension bushings we make, we bore solid round bar to the correct size. In some cases, we oversize the fasteners for better fitment (and strength). I...

Rear LCA experiences over the years

Is there a substantial difference between outside diameter of your hardware and the inside diameter of your roto-joints? If I'm understanding correctly, over-torquing the fasteners made the "clunk" less severe. That leads me to believe that there is a mismatch in fitment between the joints and...

    Too-Strong 'Throttle' Return Spring ?

To make sure I'm understanding correctly, you depress the accelerator, say 10-degreed (an arbitrary number), and no change in RPM? Like the first 10-degrees (same arbitrary number) is a dead spot? Then, all of a sudden, the RPM jumps to the point where it should be at that 10-degrees? It...

    Too-Strong 'Throttle' Return Spring ?

Maybe I need to go back and take some reading comprehension classes, but I interpreted the issue as TOO MUCH throttle response and that to 210 horsepower V6 is TOO MUCH horsepower for his "sweet, beautiful young lady friend" to handle. I don't mean any disrespect when I say this, especially...

Whats the story behind failing cam follwers...?

Since you have observed failure of the roller before failure of the libe. Again, approaching this from an OHV perspective. The oiling that Laga, Skwerl, et al mentioned is plausible and makes sense. Compared to most OHV cams/tappets, it doesn't appear that the volume of oil flowing past the...

    Too-Strong 'Throttle' Return Spring ?

I had two different dealerships tell me that it didn't have a tune, but logic, and the presence of a JLT intake, indicated otherwise. The smog referee settled that debate. Tuning a car is a lot easier than tuning a GF or wife, especially if you have an exotic. Re: the '86 Vette, stock, they...

Whats the story behind failing cam follwers...?

Have you had a follower failure without a cam failure? The cam looks soft to me. We have been experiencing that same problem, in the boat in my avatar, with big block Chevys. Our cause was soft cam cores. Are you able to have a hardness test (Rockwell or Brinell) run on the cams, to rule...

    Too-Strong 'Throttle' Return Spring ?

Does it have a tune? I had the same issue, with my '05, making it a bit unnerving while pulling away from a stop, with a cop in the lane next to me. I don't think that the throttle body is the issue. I had the thermostat housing fail, pressure washing the throttle body with coolant, causing...

Alternative CMCV delete plate brand to avoid

A-788 Splash Zone epoxy is what Reher Morrison uses to reshape intake ports. I'm sure it would be the best choice for your induction. I have installed N20 bungs in several intakes that have been filled with this epoxy, and surprisingly it held up to the heat of welding. I was sure that it...

    S197 Rotor Slop / Clunk

The rotors were actually slipping between the rim and axles/hubs? The clunk was the inside of the wheel stud bores impacting against the wheel studs? How frequently did you hear the clunk, only while shifting between forward and reverse?

    Tuners?

I had an '05 4.0L/auto that came craigslist equipped with a JLT (sewer pipe) CAI and a mystery tune. It got flagged for the smog referee because of the tune. I had a local Ford dealership castrate it back to stock. I would say it made a big difference.

    Rings or head gasket ?

I've had that happen on OHV engines, where there is a path available from the combustion chamber to the crankcase via the lifter valley. I don't see a direct path to the crankcase. https://images.app.goo.gl/mBscwx86ReDUFA7EA It looks like the oil supply is in front of the front two cylinders...
