Pony Package is a great option for the V6 Mustang

Interesting window sticker. Does anyone know where or even if Ford stuck the copy of the assembly line information (almost a copy of the window sticker) on the 2006 Mustangs??? I remember 'back in the day' some companies stuck the line sheet in the rear seat springs. Another place (that didn't...

Pony Package is a great option for the V6 Mustang

Edit: My 4.0 has a front sway bar also. And I missed the 'Pioneer' on the info screen surround in that pic, but that looks like a neat addition to the Mustang (I don't listen to the radio at all). Is that a difficult install???

Pony Package is a great option for the V6 Mustang

Yes, I do have the rear sway bar and the power drivers seat. A lucky break for me, getting the Pony Package before I even knew what it was. :)

Pony Package is a great option for the V6 Mustang

Yes, mine has all those. I just never noticed the TCS button. Never had a car/SUV with TCS. Still learning this car. Lots of other stuff I don't know about it, I'm sure. Still not sure if automatic is 5-speed or 4 or 6... :(

Pony Package is a great option for the V6 Mustang

Yes! Thank you for pointing that out! ;) But I do not have that info screen between the phone charger and the climate control system. I have a Shaker 500 sound system instead. Is that info screen part of the OEM Pony Package???

Pony Package is a great option for the V6 Mustang

I also have a 2006 Mustang 4.0L V6. It has the Pony Package, but I don't see any traction control buttons/levers/controls. Where does your Mustang show the 'traction control' control (Disable/Enable)?

    Q about Fail-Safe Cooling

The box to 'Turn Ignition Off Then On' was in a YouTube video. After the read & clear buttons and the 'Are You Sure' message. I don't get that box. I have four DTC codes, all pertaining to cylinder head overtemperature, but that's a question for another forum. ;)

    Q about Fail-Safe Cooling

And it is a surreal ride! You can actually hear the two individual cylinders firing. Shakes and shudders, lurches ahead at maybe five mph, the suddenly fires all four cylinders for about fifty yards, then back to two-banging. It did shut down completely and I let it coast to the curb and sit for...

    Q about Fail-Safe Cooling

I agree. My Mustang is a 2006; two years before my 2008 Escape. But for the benefit of 2008 and later Mustangs who may have a similar Fail-Safe Mode, here is a scan from my 2008 Escape Owners manual on this subject -

    Q about Fail-Safe Cooling

My 2008 Escape blew off the upper rad hose and I had to drive 3.6 miles home on Fail-Safe Mode. I wondered if my 2006 Mustang 4.0L V6 has this also. I looked in my Owners Manual and there is this message - "What You Should About Fail Safe Cooling - (4.6L V8 Engine Only". Nothing about the 4.0L...

    2nd 'Map' In OEM ECU?

Interesting. OD is active in all five gear ranges? Not just disconnecting fifth?

    2nd 'Map' In OEM ECU?

My '06 4.0 V6 w/auto trans seems 'peppier' with OD off compared to engaged. Is there a second 'map' for each mode??? I know there is a 'limp-home' mode, but this is definitely not it. The car just seems to accelerate more 'crisply' with OD off. I've always thought that the OD Off switch just...

    Seat belt holder

My 06 is a magnetic strap, just holds the belt out a bit more at the bottom. Took me 3 years to realize what it was.

    Gas Gauge Curfufflal

Thank you for your reply! I didn't notice I was in the wrong forum. :( Anyway...My 06 4.0 V6 was down to 1/2 tank yesterday, I put $15.00 of Regular in it and after about $13.50 the hose shut off. I was hesitant about the remaining gas owed me but I was able to squeeze (repeatedly) the rest of...

2005 mustang GT 4.6 Driver side rear piston brake caliper sticking

I just had both my rear calipers replaced w/remans. I bought a complete F&R set of Hawk Street pads. Both rear pucks were frozen beyond movement. Ran $390 at my local mech, including flush/bleed. I did the fronts myself, all four pucks moved without any effort. My reason for replacing pads was...

Does the 4.0 V6 also have two sending units???

    Gas tank won’t fill,

I have/had the same problem on my '06 4.0 V6. The pump lever was so 'heavy' it felt like I was lifting a 10 pound weight. It started max flow before I could regulate it. And then shut itself off in less than a second. I switched gas stations/mini-marts and found a station with 'soft' handles, I...

    2006 V6 Hood Struts - Opinions?

Ah. I must have posted wrong and stkjock moved it to the V6 4.0 forum. Thank you, sir! ;)

    2006 V6 Hood Struts - Opinions?

Well, I don't know what a teek is, but I'll admit to being a lamer. I think I'll go with the MMD's. The Redlines just look too long, and that plug-bolt is kind of disturbing. Thanks to all! :)

    2006 V6 Hood Struts - Opinions?

I found replacement struts for the MMD while browsing Amazon - "Lift Supports Depot Qty (2) Fits 2005 to 2018 Mustang Replacement Hood for MMD Kit ONLY" https://www.amazon.com/Fits-2005-Mustang-Replacement-Supports/dp/B07BSVG3QF

    2006 V6 Hood Struts - Opinions?

OK, here's my rundown on the six kits I was able to find YouTube videos for. This is only my personal preferences, which basically means I want something compact and OEM-looking. Roush - Ugly bracket cut-outs, nice short struts CDC - Carbon fiber brackets, nice short struts MMD - Nice...

That is depressing. I think that is a NO to MMD.

    2006 V6 Hood Struts - Opinions?

I'd like opinions on which hood strut kit to get. I'm old and feeble, and that 50# hood is a PITA. I've downloaded and looked at videos for Rousch, CDC, MMD, Ford Performance, MRT, and Redline. I'm leaning towards the MMD strut kit. I'd like to hear opinions on any of the above that you may...

    Fuel Filler Not Accepting Fuel

Holy Crap! I found the canister location, and checking prices at various auto parts franchises, they range from ~$300-~$700!!! If they're in stock...Rock Auto is out... Whew...Is there a way to clean it, or air it out, or whatever needs to be done to get it back to normal???

    Fuel Filler Not Accepting Fuel

I do that - pumping up to nearest dollar. Crap! Do I need a new evap filter? Or can I squeeze this one dry. After I find it... The new station requires pre-paying, so I won't be having the rounding-up any more...
