No change in 1/4 mile ET after gear change

I didn't see anyone mention this, but didn't the run with the 4.10 gears have a slower reaction time by 0.5705 seconds? I'm pretty sure that if the various times were corrected for that reaction time, the 4.10 accelerations would look a little better, shouldn't they?

    Gear tooth pattern question

I agree that the factory tools would be helpful. However, I purchased the "GXL Carrier & Pinion Bearing Puller Dana 30, 40, 60, 70, 80, Ford 10.25 Clamshell Design" on Amazon when it was $220; it's now down to $129 which is a steal. Makes pulling the pinion and carrier bearings a breeze, and...

    Gear tooth pattern question

Correction!! From the picture that you posted, the first few teeth on the left side are all I can go by, and they look like the pattern is TOO HIGH on the teeth, meaning TOO much shim. Try to show pictures a little better if possible.

    Gear tooth pattern question

My son and I rebuilt his 2010, 7.5" back in November. Agreed that looking at the pictures tends to make one go cross-eyed after a while, but it appears to me that the patterns you're showing are the "coast" side. From the angle, I can't get a look at the drive side, but the pattern does appear...

    2010 V6 4.0L Vibration Issue, 1,400 & 2,800rpm

Thanks Flapjack!! I've been under this car a few times inspecting the expansion accordion on the driveshaft and took some pictures of it, and never saw a weight in that location. No way I would have missed that. Leaves me wondering if the exhaust hasn't been replaced? Does anyone know the...

    2010 V6 4.0L Vibration Issue, 1,400 & 2,800rpm

Thanks for hanging with me SVT. The exhaust is bone stock and is not rubbing on anything. I'd also think that since there's no torque transmission in park, that the drivetrain would not be moving then. But when in drive when there is torque transmission I'd expect to hear more of an issue if...

    2010 V6 4.0L Vibration Issue, 1,400 & 2,800rpm

Ah, good question SVT! This 2010 V6 has an automatic transmission.

    2010 V6 4.0L Vibration Issue, 1,400 & 2,800rpm

Thanks SVT, the vehicle was not lowered. The vibration exists in park and in-gear. I fully rebuilt the rear end and inspected the driveshaft as well. I know this is a real head-scratcher, but I'm hoping someone has an insight. Thanks!

    2010 V6 4.0L Vibration Issue, 1,400 & 2,800rpm

I purchased a 2010 V6 Mustang for our younger son. Got a deal because I was pretty sure the rear end was shot. After installing the rear end after we did a full rebuild, I noticed some other mild vibrations. I've replaced both engine motor mounts (were leaking) and the rear transmission...

2014 GT oil blowing out diff vent - how to fix it?

Just picked up a 2010 V6 for my son and have the differential out of the car for a rebuild. The axle tube by the vent was built up with sand/dirt from on going vent leakage. Through my AllData-DIY subscription found three Technical Service Bulletins for gear oil leaving the vent on...
