    How do I make 400whp in an 06 GT?

    Just an fyi. I am pushing just over 500 at the rear wheels. I have been told and have witnessed myself that that is about max I feel comfortable doing without block work and swapping my 5R55.

    Gauge located

    I have the 3 gauge pod in the pic above. I now want a trans temp gauge and am looking for a place to mount my 4th gauge. Dont want to do a piller mount as I would have 2 open holes :) Thoughts ??

    How durable? 05 GT automatic

    I hate the 5R55. I am on my 3rd and this one seems to be built right. I am 500HP at the rear wheels and race 4x a year. only have 35K on her. The trans also has bands like a minibike and they do not hold up well.

    Hi Bruce, I can tell you stay away from the 5R55. I put out about 500RWHP and have gone through the stock one and a beefed up one. I am currently putting in a Level 10 that should be good to 700HP. Fingers crossed !

    Good to know and thanks for the info. They had a cool manual shifter for 2005 to 2010 and discontinued it. I asked why never heard back. poor customer service at least. My girl is at the tranny shop to see if they can see what failed. I will keep you all posted.

    So solenoid pack, input shaft, and clutches were all upgraded as part of the rebuild. She is a grocery getter and I would like to keep some street manners. Dont want to have to go to a pure drag tranny :-(

    Yes but there was some debris in it when checked recently. (friction material I believe)
