Ok I took my rear window louver off to clean the glass and low and behold one of the mount plates has failed.
Followed the instructs to the letter on install but the 3M tape still failed.
Not Good to say the least.
But all is not lost.
I have a better more reliable fix for the tape.
3M Window Weld (Used to install windows in modern cars).
In modern cars the windshield is actually a structural component of the body.
Better adhesion and wont fail in moisture like the tape.
Also a lot stronger (Something like 3000 psi shear) and nowhere near as installation critical.
15 bucks a tube and ya don't need much.
Check yer taped on items for security.
Replace the tape with the W. W.

have been using the 3m tape for my quarter window louvers and my CDC chin spoiler with no issues. been over 2 years now and they are stil las tight as when i first put them on. be sure to clean the area well with acetone (sp?) and use adhesion promoter. then peel and stick. my bodykit has been on my tbird for 7 years and its still the original 3m Tape
