60-130??
is this a new form of racing??
I have seen some vids online of cars approaching the starting line on a roll then punching it. Is this 60-130 racing??
Just curious.

Why 60-130 instead of drag racing down the 1/4 mile?
Both are great ways to have fun with your car while measuring performance. 60-130 tends to appeal to guys with faster cars who want a way to measure their performance from a rolling start versus a standing start.
Or for jackasses who can't launch a car at a dragstrip. If you want to race from a roll........join NASCAR.

What do I win?
Bragging rights and information about your car and your driving. We dont offer prize money or trophies, but you do get the info about your run and there are some enthusiast forums where 60-130 times are posted and discussed.
Wow. Bragging rights. Does that come with a dyno sheet and a keyboard?

Not a race... more of a fyi... and great way to datalog w/o the stress of a dyno ;)

Something fun to do to pass the time of wonderfully shitty 90+F 90% humidity Southern summers :)

well no. It just comes with a coffee mug that says "yes you can race in a straight line after your car gets rolling"

Some cars come with an impressive amount of power from the factory, and making a bit more power is fairly easy with said cars.

Example:

Cars like the vette zr1 are easily 10 sec cars, but who would set a zr1 for drag?? So what happens? Zr1 owners go to the drag strip, stage, wait for the lights to come down, and go part throttle at first to keep the rear tires from melting. Then all of a sudden they get to that point where they can lean all the way into the throttle and unleash hell.

Now imagine a guy who bought a Zr1, and upped the boost (a matter of time for this to happen). Now you have a street car without a cage, or any drag hardware that is making 900+hp and weighs 3300lbs. What do these cars do?? They suck at the 1/4 mile because they can't launch, but these guys do not care about that. All that is important is how much mph your car can swallow.

This is what this 60-130 racing is made for. Cars that are civilized smooth driving machines that have no solid rear end, or tubed chasis, but can fly. And in a way its a test of your car, not your driving skill.

Till now a 1000hp street car had no place in legal racing.
