McCleod makes an adjustable TB. That's about all I'm aware of in adjustability for these except for installing shims behind the slave master. What's the situation? Mix match brand clutch and flywheel? A setup not specific to an S197? Clutch not grabbing 100%, not releasing 100%?

Here's the deal..matching flywheel and dual dics clutch. Always from first install bee VERY difficult to engage into first and reverse. Sometimes I have to shut the cat off to engage the trannt..driving is okay, just when it idles or sits for a while is it difficult. I have followed proper bleeding procedrues and replaced the slavre cylinder with a new ford item..problem still exists...shimmed behing slave cylinder....not much improvement but some.

Need to add another shim. What seems to be happening is the slave is too far away and not fully disengaging. The slave isn't pressing in the fingers enough. You need to bring the slave closer to the clutch with another shim. What brand clutch is it and is it specific to an S197? A combo from one company should accomodate the differences in an S197.

My first clutch was a Ram HD and it required 2 shims in order to disengage 100%. Sounds like they still haven't made them work 100% yet. Did it come with shims?
